In a targeted strike that significantly escalates regional tensions, Israel has assassinated Ali Dawoud Amich, the head of a division in Hezbollah's engineering department. The operation, confirmed by the IDF earlier today, struck Amich in the Al-Dweir region of Southern Lebanon, where he was allegedly coordinating the rehabilitation of military infrastructure and promoting attacks against Israeli forces.

This assassination, ordered under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's directive, is viewed as a direct enforcement of Israel's security red lines following the fragile November 2024 ceasefire. By targeting the engineering leadership, Israel aims to cripple Hezbollah's ability to rebuild its tunnel networks and launch sites, a move that Hezbollah has already condemned as a "violation" likely to trigger a severe response.
