The recent victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Haryana Assembly elections marks a significant achievement, particularly as Prime Minister Narendra Modi had oversight of the state when he served as National Secretary of the BJP. Following the appointment of Shri Phanindranath Sharma as General Secretary (Organization) of the State BJP unit, I had the opportunity to visit Haryana in 2023 and travel across the state with him during his prabas. It was inspiring to observe his meticulous management of time, people, and situations, reminiscent of the dedication of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Sharma adeptly addressed the rifts between the party and the government, a major concern from the previous year. The BJP's win can be attributed to several factors, especially the effective organizational reforms that followed his takeover. Senior RSS leader Shri Arun Kumar, who previously served as the Prant Praharak of Haryana and is now the Joint General Secretary of All India RSS, further exemplifies the integral support of RSS, which has quietly worked behind the scenes, prioritizing the organization over individual promotion. Their strategy, including minimal social media presence, has made them less accessible to opponents. Looking ahead, I believe that appointing an organizational general secretary for the Northeastern Zone—post Ajay Jamwal's relocation to Madhya Pradesh—could reinvigorate the party in the Northeastern states after recent Lok Sabha setbacks. Grassroots workers express optimism that a dedicated RSS prachark familiar with the unique mindset of the region can foster substantial positive changes. It’s important to note that this perspective is my personal opinion and does not reflect an affiliation with the BJP, nor is it intended to diminish the efforts of friends from other political or ideological backgrounds.
