I'm excited to let you all know that the Luxury Portrait Experience is now available! 😝
I’ve wanted to create a class like this for a while because I’m often asked how I approach my portrait sessions and how I create an experience that feels more elevated and personal for my clients.
The word “luxury” gets used a lot, but to me, it doesn't simply mean "fancy" or "expensive". To me, it means creating a more guided, thoughtful, and high-touch experience where the client feels taken care of from beginning to end. Think of it almost like a concierge approach to portraiture.
In a standard portrait session, you may talk briefly about what the client has in mind, share a few mood board images, and then they arrive with their own wardrobe, hair, and makeup ready to go. There is nothing wrong with that, but a luxury portrait experience goes much deeper.
The way I like to craft my sessions is much more intentional. We meet beforehand, talk through the full process, discuss what the client wants the images to communicate, and uncover the deeper reason behind the photos (i.e. if they're transformative, for business, memories etc). From there, I guide them through the experience so they feel prepared, supported, and confident before they ever step in front of the camera.
That can include an in-depth questionnaire, consultation, wardrobe guidance, creative planning, mood boards, client communication, hair and makeup, posing direction, and all the small details that help the shoot feel less intimidating and more memorable.
So yes, “luxury” may sound like a buzzword, but for me it is really about differentiating the portrait experience. It is not just “show up and take a few photos.” It is creating something that feels considered, personal, and special for the client. Almost like a spa day for portraits, but with a lot more strategy behind it.
In this class, I walk through how I approach my portrait sessions, how I communicate the value of the experience, how that language connects to marketing, and how all of the pieces come together cohesively. My hope is that by applying this level of attention to your own shoots, you can create a stronger experience, attract clients who value what you offer, and build portrait sessions that feel unforgettable.
The class is also filled with a chock full of helpful resources, such as client communication examples (the same ones I use), questionnaire examples marketing and planning details, and even a client avatar tool to help uncover your ideal client. These are the very tools and setup that I use for my own portrait clients, so that I can have higher value experiences with clients that are happy to refer me and actually become repeat customers.
