The Kolaghat Rail Bridge, inaugurated in 1900, was a major engineering feat for its time, establishing a vital connection between the southern and southeastern regions of West Bengal and beyond. It remains a crucial artery for both freight and passenger trains.
​As for the road bridges, the Sarat Setu, opened in 1967, was a great improvement for road transport between Kolaghat and Deulti, helping to alleviate congestion. Due to increasing traffic demands, the New Sarat Setu was built and completed in 2012 to provide additional capacity and smoother travel.
​These bridges aren't just concrete and steel; they are lifelines that support the local economy, connecting communities and enabling the transport of goods and people across the Rupnarayan River every single day.

The Prakasam Barrage is a major landmark across the Krishna River in Vijayawada. It was completed in 1957 and is named after Tanguturi Prakasam, the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
