Thank you for visiting my page.

One day a guy went to borrow visual experiences from the master creator at the sea of visions. My name is Abhishek and I specialise in weddings, portraits, editorials, documentary photography and photojournalism. I have always been convinced with the power of images and the influence it can have on our world. I am fascinated with documenting life as it is and that's what fuels the essence of my w

ork. I believe pictures should cultivate memories, invoke the senses and stir the soul. No clichéd labels and no superfluous baloney... Just simple, honest images harvested from life itself. Here's inviting you to start a genuine and heartfelt journey in enjoying the beauty of the ordinary. Let's create some great stories together — shall we? Do Cameras Matter in 2025?
Yes, but not in the way you think:
A thought and a thank you for World Photography Day, 2025.

I asked myself, what keeps me reaching for a camera, even after all these years?’ It is not necessarily the technology but the way it shapes how I see. Sometimes it is the way our hands and bodies learn to move with these tools, sometimes it is the colours that carry mood rather than just accuracy. At other times, I think about the way it slips quietly into a moment without demanding attention. And not to forget the community of others who believe photography is more than technically perfect pixels.

On this World Photography Day, I am grateful for the reminder to slow down and truly see. To the makers of these cameras, Fujifilm, nearly thirteen years ago you reminded the world,
“We haven’t forgotten what this art form is meant to be.”

Thank you for keeping soul in the machine. Here’s to many more years of keeping the fire burning.

Happy World Photography Day

How would a creative define a ‘big’ life moment? When the masterpiece is complete? When the award is held up to applause? I’d argue not. The big moments often come disguised as small ones. Like bricks in the foundation that are unseen, but hold everything up for decades.

I was maybe 20, interning at a production house in Kolkata. My love for photography was young too, limited to street shots during commutes from Khidderpore, or the odd bazaar. But what felt like a side quest soon became the main story. I still remember sitting in that bright red bean bag in the corner of the office, my eyes affixed to photobooks and monographs on the shelf.

It was there that I found the work of the one and only Sebastião Salgado. (Thank you for your guidance). His images of miners in Brazil, oil field workers in Kuwait, cattle herders in Africa, held no gimmicks or cheap provocation. Just raw humanity, presented with truth, dignity, and astonishing beauty through gritty black and whites, stunning poetic compositions, and unfiltered emotion. In those pages, life itself became a mirror I had never looked into before. His work taught me that photography is a language. The one I wanted to spend my life learning. Those quiet afternoons with a cup of Nescafé turned into the foundation for decades of engagement. I eventually decided to pursue photography professionally, wanting to document stories of humanity. And if I could attribute that path to one person, it would be him. Yes, there were detours; weddings, commercial gigs. But my heart never left those books in that office corner. Today, I’m grateful to be doing the kind of work that first stirred my soul.

People say it’s a blessing to find your calling early. But honestly, it was me who was found. More than ever, I know my failures and flaws. And more than ever, I also believe in the God who has made us with love and purpose. Salgado’s work bore witness to brokenness, and stunning beauty in all of creation. I only hope I can do the same. To use this craft to reflect the image of God and point toward the eternal hope we’re all invited to.

I the sojourner, riding through this land.
An expectant pilgrim, how do I understand?

Your Spirit aboard, O faithful driver, refuge and guide,
The tracks stretch through dark mountains,
Be the engine and teach me to abide.

My heart is tender, torn by the trails I’m called to bear,
O soul, meet your maker’s balm of care.

One day we will reach you and our journey complete,
When faith and sight meet and enter your banquet seat.

O sojourner, Eden now view,
This transit’s days after but a few.
Press on, press on,
He will one day make all things new.

Your might, I seek today.

The winter is harsh.

Hold the vigil, hold the vigil.

Till you conquer me with higher things.

Hold the vigil, hold the vigil.

Would you, please.

Conquer me with higher things.

Tree of life, Tree of light,
Bid our darkness to flight.

And in the fullness of time,

The lowliness of Bethlehem sublime...

By dwelling in our darkness,

You bid our fears to flight.

That manger’s merciful morning slate,

Oh the mystery and love great.

And now, It’s hard to wait,

But Father you are never late.

Grace your children’s weak estate,

The altar in us again, create.

And because you are never late,

Until You come again,

We will sing-

Guide us, to yield, to hope,

to watch and wait.

For the one who cradled the past,
Is the one who holds me fast.

Those moist jars of woe,
He knew long ago.

That which the heart does harrow,
Is still...

With the one who cradles the morrow.

You gave me the tree,
Yet I doubted, and said,
Can this really be?

So I ate of a tree, and chose to be free.

You wore my tree,
Doubtless, I see,
That indeed, I am free.

Can this really be?

I love photographing people. For many years, I was drawn to portraits that were either technically complex, compositionally brilliant, or had great lighting.

But lately, these basic parameters seem to have diminished in importance, and I find myself drawn to straightforward, simple pictures of people—shots that anyone could take with any camera. These are the very kinds of pictures that, I admit, I might have looked down on if someone else had taken them. Why the change? I think it’s due to the realization that what’s most important in a portrait is simply that there’s a person on the other side. Someone like me, with a past, a story, and a future. The simplicity and privilege of this fact cannot be overstated. So, in many ways, it’s not about the picture at all! It’s humbling, but I hope this perspective sticks and flows through all the work I engage in.
