In flight!!
Shooting birds in flight is challenging as you need lot of patients and good equipment. I used to regularly walk up the Tungabhadra Dam Canal and sit on my tripod stool clutching my bulky camera to shoot in flight birds.

The Indian river tern or just river tern (Sterna aurantia) is a tern in the family Laridae. The bill is yellow and the legs red. It has a black cap in breeding plumage.

The laughing dove (Spilopelia senegalensis) is a small pigeon that is a resident breeder in Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, A rufous and black chequered necklace gives it a distinctive pattern and is also easily distinguished from other doves by its call.

The white-browed wagtail or large pied wagtail (Motacilla maderaspatensis) is a medium-sized bird and is the largest member of the wagtail family. They are conspicuously patterned with black above and white below, a prominent white brow, shoulder stripe and outer tail feathers.

The pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) is a species of water kingfisher widely distributed across Africa and Asia.
Its black and white plumage and crest, as well as its habit of hovering over clear lakes and rivers before diving for fish, make it distinctive.
When perched, they often bob their head and flick up their tail. This one is perching on wire line beside Tungabhadra Dam Canal.
Although we bird photographers do not prefer shooting birds perched on wire line, But this one was hard to let go.
