"Life is like a cup of tea,its all about how you make it."
Being in Munnar - the tea growing region of South India, a visit to the Tea Museum was natural.
As we are fond of walking, we walked from the city to the museum - about six km leisurely walk through a narrow road taking us to the museum through quaint habitats in between.
The tour of the museum happens in a regimental way - documentary - walk through old office equipment from the colonial times - narration by an expert - the process of tea making - shopping and tea tasting.
We breaking the monotony reached for the narration the first thing. It was a good decision. The narration being done by a tea expert ignited our interest in knowing more about tea. He weighs the benefits of green tea against the harms of normal milk tea that the majority of Indians consume.
After the talk, we were led to the area which displays the whole process of tea making - starting from green leaf plucked from plants to different types of tea - CTC - dust, Orthodox, green tea, white tea etc etc.
The museum also has a shopping counter selling all types of tea as well as various other things related or even not related to tea. There is a counter that also sells tea as well as tea bushes which are used as decorative pieces and also used for making tables.
