The Future Roar 🐯

Subadult still growing, still learning, yet already carrying the aura of the forest’s apex predator. Moments like these remind us how raw, powerful, and delicate the wild truly is. 🐅🌿

Falco Messi in the grassland! ⚽️

Shot this image back in 2014 with my Canon 600D and Sigma 150-500mm IS1 in extreme low light.

Those were the days when fps was such a challenge i.e. a max 3 and you had to freeze these avians with sheer speed and agility. Anything above a 1000 ISO went to bin straight away 😄

I absolutely cherish those days and makes me feel tad proud of what we lads pulled with limited tech :)

On this Leopard Day, we celebrate one of nature’s most extraordinary survivors - The leopard!

Agile, adaptable, and fiercely opportunistic, leopards are the true masters of survival. From silently stalking a tiny mouse to taking down prey much larger than themselves such as a Gaur, their versatility is unmatched in the wild.

Every move calculated, every hunt a lesson in precision.

What truly sets them apart is their ability to thrive across forests, grasslands, mountains, and even human dominated landscapes. While much of wildlife struggles against habitat loss and change, leopards endure… adapting, evolving, and surviving against all odds.

They are not just a big cat, they are symbols of resilience.

Let’s take a moment to respect, admire, and protect these incredible big cats who continue to walk this planet with quiet strength, even in the face of destruction.

Can you name them all? 🐦

We often overlook the little things in life, not realizing that they sometimes make the biggest impact.

Back in Hessaraghatta, many would head out with their eyes set on raptors. While I enjoyed those sightings too, I was always equally fascinated by the smaller birds that quietly went about their lives around us. Somehow, they never escaped my attention.

Sharing a small series of these little beauties.

PS: I had to sneak in a Roller at the end. I know it doesn’t quite fit the “small bird” category but it has always been one of my all time favourites :)

Happy World Wildlife Day from the architect of the jungle. 🌿🐘

A powerful sighting of this magnificent tusker in full musth from Bhadra Tiger Reserve.

We first spotted him from across the backwaters, a lone male, carrying that unmistakable aura. After making a few habitat frames, we decided to circle around, hoping for a closer encounter along the road.

Tuskers in musth demand respect. Heightened aggression, unpredictable movement, and absolute dominance. Every moment around them requires awareness.
When we reached the other side, it took us a few seconds to realise it was the same elephant standing in the water. At first, all we saw was what looked like a rock, just the head bump breaking the surface.
And then… he moved!

What followed was a spectacular display of showering, scooping mud from the water, splashing it across his massive body being Raw, Wild and Untamed. Was indeed a privilege to witness.

After documenting a few frames, we chose to leave him in peace.
Encounters like these are rare and moments like these remind us why we should conserve the forests Flora and Fauna.

May our wildlife thrive!
May our forests flourish!
May we always choose respect over intrusion. 🌏🌳
