Time has flown by, five incredible weeks in India, and somehow my journey is already nearing its end. As these final days slip by, I’m doing everything I can to savour every single moment.
These past weeks have been nothing short of extraordinary, unforgettable wildlife encounters, countless photographic momements, and mornings that remind me exactly why this place holds such magic. Today was one of those mornings.
The beautiful Chakradhara subadult emerged from the sandstone hillside just metres from our vehicle, moving with effortless grace through the landscape she calls home. I often encourage my guests to shoot wide, not only to capture the tiger, but also the magnificent wilderness that surrounds them. Yet this morning, even my 70–200mm lens didn’t feel wide enough to do justice to the sheer grandeur of the scene. A reminder to myself: next year, bring an even wider lens.
Still, the vibrant green forest behind her created the perfect backdrop for such an elegant creature as she slowly approached us. Moments like these are impossible to forget.
In just a few days, it will be time to leave, and that thought brings real sadness. But until then, I intend to treasure every sunrise, every track in the dust, every call in the forest, and every fleeting wild moment this remarkable country continues to offer. India is a place of extraordinary beauty and resilience, where both wildlife and people coexist amidst the pressures of a rapidly growing population and the many social and economic challenges that come with it, and I’m completely addicted, I’m looking forward to next season already.
