At around 1:00 in the afternoon, near Uthukadu, we stepped outside to have lunch. After a sixty rupee meal, with bellies full, we stepped outside the midway meals mess, to find an old, smelly man sitting on the platform outside. We went inside and spoke to the manager, asking him if we could pay for the old man's lunch, to which he said that it was alright if we could pay for it. But we insisted that we physically deliver it to him. So, when we got the food, we took it outside, and offered it to him. The smelly old man looked up, and gave us the most beaming smile he probably had given in a long time. And, of course, permission for a couple of photos.
This is what I think photography must be about. Not just the photos, but the story behind it.
