Himalayan Princess
A newly-introduced 'Himalayan Princess' toy train makes its way through the Darjeeling hills, in celebration of the 127th birthday of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, 23 August 2007. The toy train was declared a 'world heritage' train by the UNESCO in 1999, and a newly-introduced, decorated version covered the journey to mark its anniversary celebrations.

Old Ghoom Monastery is the popular name of Yiga Choeling. The monastery belongs to the Gelukpa or the Yellow Hat sect and is known for its 15 feet (4.6 m)-high statue of the Maitreya Buddha. The external structure of the building was established in 1850 by the Mongolian astrologer and monk Sokpo Sherab Gyatso, who was head of the monastery until 1905.

Beside the market there is a staircase, which takes you up to the Mahakal Mandir. This mandir is a beautiful coexistent of Budhdhism and Hinduism.
