!SAHAGUN! (सगुण/ बाटो छेक्नु )

"Sahagun" probably meaning 100 qualities is one of the common activity you will notice in every cultural or traditional wedding and meeting.
Sahagun is what is kept as to welcome the bride and groom to the new beginning of their life by the non married girls (कुमारी केटिहरू). They welcome them and wish them best in their life and gave them sweets and milk/juice to eat. According to Gorkha Hindu Culture, eating milk or sweets before starting of any thing brings positivity and good will, so that may be the reason to start the Sahagun in traditional wedding. While Bride and Groom are welcomed by milk and sweets, the other companions (जन्ती) are welcomed by other kind of drinks. For that warm welcome the bride and groom gives some amount (दक्षिणा) to the girls and they open the way for the bride, groom and their companions.

Our culture is really beautiful.
