-I am everything you cant control.

As millions of women forces, after years of subjugation march across the country and the world together; in solidarity with men to demand for their protection and our progress altogether- against abortion, same marriage rights and discrimination on immigrants, Briares stands in solidarity with the movement and the idea behind it.

UNTAMED-
I am everything you can't control is to reckon women forces and their voices to be loud. This designs have been created to spread the idea of strength and courage. And most of all, the lights and the designs employed in the collection intends to celebrate the emancipation of Women to 'Light' the design also thrives to develop stimulation of women rights.

I am very happy to share with you my idea of Women Rights through a video Women in 'LIGHT' which will be shared with you tomorrow

WOMEN IN ‘Light’
This year my collection was an inspiration
derived from Maya Angelou’s beautiful poem, the Caged Bird.The caption, Women in light is considerably chosen. The word ‘Light’ serves two purposes here. First, it is used as a metaphor in describing a women’s plight, where I intend to show, women transcending from the Cage which signifies Bo***ge, to Light which speaks of Freedom and Emancipation. Secondly, it describes a new venture, of LED Lights being used on the garments for the first time. This experiment will also reckon us about the sophisticated Digital Technology, the wonders of the new invention, which is called the Future Interacting Media.

The audience were taken on a voyage of Magical realism, by an extensive use of objects and fabrics that produces optical illusions. And colors such as, monochromatic and cold colors of black and white and grey were used exclusively. The choice of colors Black and White is very symbolic as, each color to me, represents The Private (black) and Public (white) side of a woman’s life. The Color Black reflects the darkness, Pain and misery of a woman in the society, always tormented, abused, beaten, r***d and bartered for others’. While on the other hand, it is in the Public, a woman must always remain pure( White), pure in all its sense. A woman, shall not voice her opinion, shall not dirty her speech and shall forever remain ‘clean’ and a virgin for others’.

We as women are trained to see ourselves as cheap imitations of fashion photographs, rather than seeing fashion photographs as cheap imitations of women- Naomi Wolf

Wouldn't it be nice, if we could just see souls instead of bodies?
Love and compassion instead of curves? If this was to happen, women would have been at a much better place. And may be there wouldn't be any Feminists around us.

A decrepit, ramshackled temple where only snakes and scorpions breathe And none of us were allowed to wear any footwear in the temple. One of the many shoots which kept pumping my adrenaline through out the shoot. Thanks to everyone who helped me get this shot as it is and for the risk they took.
