Somewhere along the trail, I stopped trying to figure out where I'm supposed to be.

Alan Watts once spoke about the strange rush of chasing destinations, only to forget that life was never meant to be a race to the finish line.

The older I get, the more I realise that the most meaningful moments happen in between — on the long drives, the quiet walks, the conversations that change nothing and everything at once.

Maybe the point isn't to arrive.
Maybe the point is to experience.

For now, I'll keep wandering.

Last December, I arrived in Kigwema when winter had already stripped the hills of their colours. The flowers were gone, the fields lay harvested, and the village wore a quieter face.

A local guide told me, "You should see this place before winter. There are flowers everywhere."

That sentence stayed with me.

Almost a year later, I found myself back in Kigwema, this time in bloom. What I discovered wasn't just a different season, but a different rhythm of life. Children still played in the streets, elders still gathered outdoors, familiar faces still greeted strangers with warmth, and traditions were still being carried forward by a new generation.

And somewhere between Kigwema and Jakhama, the journey became less about places and more about the people who keep their stories alive.
