The art of gussadi❤️

Small groups of these are called Gussadi . They wear turbans studded with peacock feathers, deer antlers , artificial moustaches, beards and goat skin. The instruments in this are Dappu , Tudumu , Pipri and Kolikammu. After the dance is over, their feet are washed to show respect and this dance is special. [1]

Diwali is the biggest festival for Gonds. Gussadi festival starts 1 week or 10 days before Diwali festival. The opening day is known as "Bhogi". The concluding day is known as "Kolabodi". Gussadis wear colorful clothes and adorn themselves with jewellery. They go to neighboring villages singing and dancing in groups. Such groups are called "Dandari". Each team consists of more than forty members. 'Gusadi' is a part of Dandari. Drum, Tudumu, Vette, Dolki, Pepre, Calicom are their musical instruments.
