That’s no. 21 for Magnus Carlsen 🙌

Life has its own way of showing the guiding lights.
The last week has been nothing but incredible. Grateful and humbled for the opportunity to witness another world championship and probably in one of the best locations of the world.

Thank you ChessBase India for making me a part of it.

On the 25th of January, we had the privilege to be a part of an unique event in Hyderabad. The Mahnav Ability Open Rapid Chess Championship for Visually Challenged. An event which which was completely different from the events we usually cover. Where you could see friends holding hands and helping everyone around, you could see everyone smile no matter what the results are, with an entry fees of just Rs.200, all players were invited for sumptuous breakfast, lunch and dinner. Where even the player who finished last got a prize money.
In the closing ceremony, players would sing, enjoy and clap for everyone.

We salute the players who took part in the event and organisers who came up with the idea. Mahender Vaishnav and Komal Vaishnav were the main organisers of the event and with a lot of support from sponsors and volunteers this event was successfully completed. Mahender a former world cup winning cricketer has seen this journey himself and knows the struggles a visually challnged player goes through and is on a mission to empower them through his trust Mahnav Ability. We wish him and his team the very best.

Finding a new restaurant with good food is no less than a personal quest and when you have your partner in crime with the same idea, it has to be the best plan. So today we spotted and visited the Seven Sisters restaurant in Hitex Hyderabad. They also have a branch in Banjara but as this is closer to our place, this was a no brainer.

Checkout their IG - https://www.instagram.com/7sistersgachibowli/
Find them on Zomato -https://www.zomato.com/hyderabad/7-sisters-gachibowli

We gave a special limited edition bangla dial watch the Ledikeni to the world chess champion D Gukesh. In this video this is the original raw clip when I gave Gukesh the watch. Gukesh's reaction was so overwhelming that it felt that all the efforts were worth it.

You can watch the full podcast we did with the person behind the watch, Aritra Mukherjee - https://youtu.be/nV_T1UAZdjU

About the watch from the creators-
Ledikeni is not just a sweet for us. It is the story of our people for the past 150+ years, the evolution of a city, from a colonial to a modern one. When we talk about the history of a city, its culture, it is important to talk about its people, people who contributed vastly in the development of Kolkata. The many, unnamed, uncredited, blue-collar workers, whose tireless work has brought about changes to all of our lives, making things a little bit better every day.
Reminiscing about the icons of the city, one can't miss our "Kali Peeli". Introduced in 1962, the legend, Ambassador, came with Yellow and Black taxis for city rides. The cabbies were paid well back then and also worked on a commission, resulting in a huge boom in numbers, sprawling all across the city, and facilitating easy access of transportation. Over 60 years later, even with their numbers fading, the shutdown of Hindustan Motors, they still ply on the road with their limited remaining time. In the age of app-enabled cabs, their significance might be a lot less than what it used to be, but the legacy they leave behind, makes them truly iconic.
This installment of Ledikeni honors the iconic cabs of Kolkata. Their iconic colorway, featured on the dials, cemented the legacy of another generation of men, who built up the city, hand in hand.
