Tori gate,
I was fascinated by the Floating Tori Gate , Itsukushima shrine located at the Miyajima Island, in Japan, when i saw this gate in pictures or on tv shows showcasing the cutlure of Japan . But when i personally had been to see this most iconic structure of the Shinto Shrine i was dumb struck at the view. The gate appears to float during the high tide and during the low the visitors can walk up to it for a magnificent close-up. This gate looks equally stunning during sunrise and sunset.
The Itsukushima Shrine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is revered as a sacred place in ancient times and refered to as " Island of Gods". It was a total worth the visit here.
Make sure you visit this destination.

It's been long that a posted any photo of my travel here, this time I had been to Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Though I had captured the photo of this monument a few months earlier, I have been posting it lately. Hawa Mahal distinctive landmark of Jaipur, and when you are here it is mandatory to visit this monument and get a picture clicked. This mesmerizing blend of art and architecture was built as an extension to the women's chambers , intended as viewing screen and a kind of architectural veil for the royal women to view the bazaar without themselves getting noticed. Though built in Rajput architecture, it has influence of Mughal architecture in it. You shouldn't miss this architectural marvel, when you are in Jaipur.

Well, rightly said.
It's been two years that I had been to , built in the form of a Chariot, by Narasimhadeva 1 of East Ganga Dynasty in 13th Century. The main attraction of the temple is this Wheel, one among the 24 wheels, also used a sundial to calculate the accurate time of the day, just by analyzing the shadow cast by the spokes of the wheel. This marvelous structure is a best example for .
Though part of the is in ruins , this temple attracts many tourists towards it , I was one among them . The time I reached this temple there was a slight drizzle , which later subsided, giving me a chance to photograph such a beautiful picture of the wheel. Isn't it beautiful?! Anajanadari betta or parvatha , as we call it. This place was once a part of Kishkinda kingdom. This is where Lord Hanuman , ardent devotee of Lord Ram is said to born. This temple is just three kilometers from Anegundi village . Though located on the hilltop , here one can the view the a ancient architectural ruin scatterd , and one cannot miss the sunset in evenings which is mesmerizing.

Nandi the divine bull, a symbol of eternal wait and guardian deity of Kailash the abode of Lord Shiva , ever concentrated on him?
Nandi , the meaning of the name 'giving joy' or 'giving delight' is kneeling here humbly before the Lord , also believed to be Guru to countless number of Sages .

30 kms from important Chalukyan center Badami, is a sleepy town of Sudi in Karnataka . This town is home to Twin-towered Shaivite temple or Jodu-kalasada gudi as called in Kannada .

The towers atop the shrine is built in typical Chalukyan style with artistically carved kalasas. Even though being ASI protected monument , the temple is used by locals for shelter needs .

A hidden gem ............. Nagareshwar temple , presently protected as a monument of national importance by ASI is situated in Bankapur . Aravattu kambada gudi (in kannada) or Sixty pillared temple ..
Built by the Western Chalukyas in 12th century ,in the honour of Lord Shiva. Originally the temple had Fifty two coloumns , six coloumns were added when the temple was converted to a mosque when it fell in the hands of Muslims , another two are between the inner hall and the mandapa.
According to Historian Kamath Western Chalukya architecture has a place of pride in Indian architecture and also had influences on later day Hoysala architecture ..

Visit to Kolhapur is incomplete without a visit to the Laxmi Temple, here in the temple complex came across this small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddes Parvati.

The architecture of Virupaksha temple is so designed that the inverted shadow of the Raja Gopura falls on the wall of Saalu mantapa which is more than 300 meters away , on the other end of the temple complex, which works on the concept of pin-hole camera effect.
