These children belong to the Birhor tribal community, one of the most vulnerable tribal groups. For generations, their families have depended on forests and mica collection from abandoned mines for survival. Because of this difficult livelihood, many children are unable to attend school regularly and face challenges related to health, education and basic facilities.
Access to safe drinking water is still a major concern. Many families depend on river water or small pits called “Chuwan”, which are often unsafe for consumption.
However, positive change has begun. The Government, District Administration Koderma, and local NGOs are actively working to improve their lives by ensuring access to education, safe drinking water, healthcare and livelihood support.
This is just the beginning. Soon I will share updates on how their lives are changing and the steps being taken for their upliftment.
Together, awareness can bring transformation. 🌿
