Subah-e - Banaras :

Now, as I stand here again,
the air feels lighter, yet it carries the weight of what was.
There’s a silence after the storm —
a strange, sacred stillness.
The ghats lie bare,
like a blank canvas
waiting for life to paint itself once more —
stroke by stroke,
breath by breath.

I remember how it was…
when the Ganga rose beyond her patience.
Boats floated where people once walked,
and homes became reflections on muddy water.
The city seemed to breathe beneath the river’s chest —
half alive, half remembering itself.

There were those who stood still,
barefoot on trembling ground,
their faith deeper than the flood itself.
The river took away more than what eyes could see —
walls that held stories for generations,
dreams folded in boats now resting like fallen leaves.
Memories drifted —
of voices that echoed through mornings,
of colours that danced with light,
of laughter that once filled these steps.
Some lost their homes,
others their faith in tomorrow.

But Banaras… Banaras never truly sinks.
For every silence here is only a pause before a song,
every blankness — an invitation to begin again.
And when the river returns to calm,
so does life —
patient, bruised,
yet beautifully alive.

HAPPY KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI !

As we are celebrating Janmashtami, let us remember that Krishna is the divine embodiment of love, wisdom, and duty, guiding us through selfless action, devotion, and spiritual knowledge. He represents the cosmic balance, inspiring a joyful yet detached engagement with life, and symbolizes the unity of all existence.

About the Picture: Often I say that pictures happen to me. This photograph is a testament to that belief. I didn’t seek out this moment; I didn’t plan or compose it. I was simply there, mindful of what was happening around me, and when this divine moment revealed itself, I knew it was time to press the shutter.

It's not just about having a goal; it's about envisioning it, strategizing for it, and then relentlessly executing it while staying attuned to the evolving landscape. These actions pave the way for timeless achievements that leave a lasting impact on the world.

The Victoria Memorial in Kolkata is a testament to this, envisioned by Lord Curzon to honor Queen Victoria's legacy. Constructed between 1906 and 1921, this architectural marvel, designed by William Emerson, stands as the largest monument to a monarch globally. Built from Makrana marble from Rajasthan and encompassing 64 acres of gardens, it's a symbol of dedication, vision, and meticulous ex*****on.

the total cost of construction of this monument was amounting to one crore, five lakhs of rupees, and was entirely derived from voluntary subscriptions.

Today, the memorial has been turned into a museum that has 25 galleries. It also houses paintings from the British Raj, along with memorabilia and manuscripts.
