🤤 GOOD FOOD POST 🤤

While staying at any place for a few days, I always try to explore all the small to medium food joints and restaurants in the area and try some of their best dishes or chef's recommendations. Laitumkrah, Shillong was no exception.

After spending my first day trying a lot of the local dishes, I stumbled upon this amazing restaurant and for good. Actually this place became my lunch spot for the entire span of my stay.

The aesthetic and decor attracted me first. Then it was the aroma of the food being cooked. And then it was the people who work there! Everything, everyone was so good that I could hardly believe.

After tasting the food for the first time, I was totally in awe. The chef is a master of his craft. And the same applies for the others too! Every dish is prepared, plated and served to perfection. The prices of the dishes are also extremely reasonable for the portions served.

My personal recommendations would be the following
- lemon iced tea (must try)
- steamed chicken momos
- thai egg fried rice with oriental crispy chicken

DO NOT miss this gem if you're in Laitumkrah or Shillong, as a matter of fact.

☘️ A PEACEFUL STAY ☘️

This has undoubtedly been one of the prettiest properties I have stayed at. Not the most luxurious, not the most expensive, not even the best. But definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing and mentally comforting stays.

Located away from the tourist hub but very close to the main road in Laitumkrah, Shillong, this is an ideal place to stay for solo travellers like me or young couples who prefer slow living and slow travelling and local flavours over partying and touristy localities.

Personally, I always prefer to stay and eat as local as possible while travelling. While this might not be the most "local" stay, it is situated in a neighbourhood that's almost completely non touristy and consists of multiple schools, colleges, hospitals, local eateries and every other thing that a local would need in their daily lives.

Comment "STAY" for property details.

Here's another set of clicks of a beautiful sunset in the abode of clouds. All taken from the terrace of the hotel I was staying at.

☁️ ABODE OF CLOUDS ☁️

The clouds and especially the sunsets in Meghalaya are a trip by themselves. I spent hours gazing at the shapes, colours, patterns and textures of the clouds and still couldn't get enough.

Clouds are perhaps something that can always fascinate us if we take the time to look, aren't they?

❄️ THE FINAL PUSH ❄️

And finally, after a lot of delay here's how the final part of the journey looked like. An intense and seemingly endless zone of snow. As we pushed towards the peak or the destination of this trek, the layer of snow got thicker while the air got thinner. After quite a bit of struggle along the last few miles, we did witness a view that was worth the hike after all!

This was the last and final part of this series. Now, let's move on to the next chapter. Stay tuned and do check out my stories.

❄️ INTO THE SNOWLANDS❄️

Starting from a quaint, peaceful and already pretty cold village as the base, we started going up and up. It's always the first day's hike that hurts the most lol.

And after about half an hour into the trek, we witnessed the first patches of snow. It was a joyful sight at first but soon turned into quite a challenge as the layer of snow got thicker and harder. As the snow hardens into ice, it becomes extremely difficult to walk on it. So, we had to put on the spikes on our boots, although these are not the conventional crampons used for proper mountaineering, they are kinda perfect for this job. You can see one on the second slide.

So, finally after a pretty arduous couple of hours, we reached our first camp site, where we pitched our tents on the snow itself after flattening it down with spades.

The night was bone freezing but the sky kinda made up for it. Plus when you got a camera, know how to use it and some ingredients that you love to consume, nothing else really matters. I guess that's how it goes for most of us artists. We just need to be in our zone and that's about it.

Coming back to the post, do scroll to the last slide to get a glimpse of the view we got. Although you'll see more of the view in the next post, but here's the first glimpse of a real embodiment of the word "majestic".

Also, if my posts aren't on time as I say they would be, kindly don't think that I forgot or something. I just get involved in different things all the damn time lol. But I have promised myself to try to be at least a bit more regular on social media as I have tons and tons of content that I never ever post.

I'm also open to all your opinions and suggestions as to what you guys would like to see more. I am really thankful and glad that you people chose to stick by my journey and spend a few seconds of your precious time looking at my work. So yes, this is also an appreciation for my followers.

☀️ SUNSET IN THE HIMALAYAS ☀️

Since I have started posting photos from the mountains again, let's stay there for a while.

Here's part 1 of another 3 part series of mountain photos from another beautiful trek route in the Himalayas, the Bramhataal trek in Uttarakhand.

This part only has photos from the strating part of the trek, which is obviously the lowest point of the journey. Although the max altitude of this route is way lower compared to Goechala trek in my previous set of photos, wait till you see what it's like when the journey starts and finally when one reaches the top!

The change in terrain and conditions is immense! Part 2 and 3 coming next!
