With great honour and privilege Bihaan Music presents a musical evening featuring emminent sarod exponent Pt Rajeev Taranath and emminent tabla player Pt Nayan Ghosh. Pt Rajeev Taranath, India's senior most sarod player is a distinguished representative of the Maihar Gharana. A disciple of the great Maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Pt Rajeev Taranath also received important guidance from Pt. Ravi Shankar, Smt. Annapurna Devi, Pt. Nikhil Banerjee and Ustad Aashish Khan. He will be accompanied on tabla by Pt Nayan Ghosh who is acclaimed in India and abroad as one of India’s foremost musicians, with an unusual dimension. The only maestro with superlative command on two diverse instruments, the Sitar and the Tabla.
Be a part of this Evening at ICCR, Kolkata on 5th February, 2020 at 5:00pm and experience the Magic of Music.

১৯৫৩ সালে বিমল রায় পরিচালিত ‘দো বিঘা জামিন’ চলচ্চিত্রে সঙ্গীত পরিচালক হিসেবে হিন্দী চলচ্চিত্রশিল্পে অভিষেক ঘটে সলিল চৌধুরীর। তাঁরই লেখা ছোটগল্প ‘রিকশাওয়ালা’ অবলম্বনে এই চলচ্চিত্র নির্মিত হয়। এই ছবি তাঁর কর্মজীবনে নতুন মাত্রা যোগ করে। সিনেমাটি প্রথমে ফিল্মফেয়ার সেরা চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার এবং পরে ফ্রান্সের কান চলচ্চিত্র উৎসবে আন্তর্জাতিক পুরস্কার জিতে নেয়।

সুরেন্দ্রনাথের সুদক্ষ ও সুচারু নেতৃত্বের ফলে ভারতীয় সঙ্ঘ অল্প সময়েই জাতীয়তাবাদীদের মধ্যে জায়গা করে নেয়। ১৮৮৩ সাল থেকে সারা দেশের প্রতিনিধিদের নিয়ে নিয়মিতভাবে বার্ষিক সভা পরিচালনা করতেন তিনি। ১৮৮৫ সালে ভারতীয় জাতীয় কংগ্রেস প্রতিষ্ঠা পায়।জাতীয় কংগ্রেসের লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য ভারতীয় সঙ্ঘের সঙ্গে মিলে যাওয়ায় ১৮৮৬ সালে কলকাতায় অনুষ্ঠিত কংগ্রেসের ২য় অধিবেশনে সুরেন্দ্রনাথ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ভারতীয় সঙ্ঘকে কংগ্রেসের সঙ্গে যুক্ত করেন।

ঠোঁট ফাটুক বা না-ই ফাটুক এখন শীতকাল। বাঙালির পরম কাঙ্ক্ষিত ‘উইন্টার’। সোয়েটার-মাফলারে মোড়া একঝাঁক কুয়াশা মাখা সকাল বা কলকাতার রাজপথে ঝরা পাতার সঙ্গে পড়ন্ত রোদেলা দুপুরের পরকীয়া অথবা শাঁখের আওয়াজে মুখরিত গলির মুখে ব্যাডমিন্টন খেলায় মত্ত সন্ধ্যা পুরোটাই বৃথা যদি না শীতের খাওয়া সঙ্গে না থাকে। বাজারে গেলেই বোঝা যায় বেশ, জুড়িয়ে যায় চোখ-মন। তাজা শাকসবজি, ফল আর পিঠে যেন ডাকতে থাকে সমানে। ছুটির দিন নিমন্ত্রণ হোক কিংবা বনভোজন, আয়োজনটা জমানো উচিত এই শীতকালীন সবজি দিয়েই।
