|| Transcendence ||

We reached Kee Monastery from Rangrik around 4:30 pm and decided to hike up the hill behind it to reach an iconic vantage point; the kind that offers that timeless postcard view of the legendary monastery. The evening was heavily clouded and for a while it seemed uncertain whether the sky would open up at all. Yet as the golden light spilled across the valley we witnessed a remarkably colourful sunset.
Most of our teammates headed back down, unsure if the clouds would clear. Only and I stayed back; waiting, hoping. Slowly, the clouds began to dissolve and millions of stars revealed themselves. It felt like the sky was unfolding in layers.
The faint crescent moon added a gentle dimension to the frame. Snowfall from the previous day had turned much of the upper mountain slopes white; the reflected moonlight helped isolate the sky beautifully from the foreground.
To manage the extreme dynamic range, I captured the monastery exposure during blue hour and blended it later.
Some moments are not chased; they are waited for.

|| Two Realms ||

Presenting you one of my long-time bucket shots: a night sky seen from the Tabo caves.

I composed a frame within a frame that separates yet connects two realms: the restless glow of the village below and the timeless motion of the stars above.
Reaching this location was not easy. We had to hike nearly 70–80 vertical meters to access the caves. After a long journey from Kalpa, we reached Tabo later than planned, leaving very little time to scout and finalize the composition during blue hour. Finding the right framing within that narrow window of fading light was extremely challenging.

Technically, this scene pushed my limits. The interior walls of the cave were in near-total darkness, while the edge of the cave opening was illuminated by the strong glow of the village below; creating an extreme dynamic range challenge. Since I couldn’t use a higher f-stop due to the darkness inside the cave, the foreground is focus stacked using two shots. For the village lights, I bracketed 11 exposures to retain detail without blowing out the highlights.

The star trails were photographed later from outside the cave, facing the same direction, to capture a wider portion of the sky and allow seamless blending.

Both the lights are sharing the same night, telling completely different stories.
Which one you choose? Let me know in the commets.

Everyone knows this place. The iconic Buddha statue of Langza. I’ve seen countless photos of the Milky Way core rising behind it but I had never seen Orion aligned with the statue. This December in Spiti gave us the rare opportunity to witness and capture that beautiful alignment.
But this time, we also faced a serious issue.
Nearly 20 tempo travellers arrived in a convoy and within minutes the area was crowded with around 200 tourists. There was excessive light pollution, constant noise, camera flashes going off and even portable speakers playing loud music. In one word, the serenity of the place was completely destroyed.
Astrophotography and stargazing demand darkness, silence, and sensitivity toward the environment and others around you. Flash photography, loud music and careless behavior don’t just disturb people; they damage the experience and the night sky itself.
If you’ve read this far, please help spread awareness: this is not the right way to experience the night sky. We have only a handful of truly dark-sky locations left in India. If we don’t act responsibly, we will lose them too.

Please keep the nights dark. 🌌

During our recent Zanskar workshop, unexpected floral blooms gifted us stunning foregrounds beneath the stars. Sharing this as the final nightscape from our two recent expeditions to this incredible region of Ladakh. Winter skies, we’re waiting.

Moonfire

Presenting my fourth image from the Hagshu La expedition, organised by as part of landscape and astro photo trek.
Our Camp 1 location posed quite a challenge for compositions. The mountain orientation made it difficult to align the elements in the sky with those in the immediate foreground. So, we decided to go for a simpler frame instead.
That’s when these yellow-leaved shrubs caught our attention. The moonlight from behind gently lit them up, making the leaves glow like faint, flickering flames in the cold night air. And that’s how this frame came to life.

Hello Instagram and my Instafam,
It's been a long I haven't posted something on feed and it's been a while I haven't communicated with you guys. So here I am today. Came with a brand new travel photograph from this Himachal Pradesh tour 😀 Toh chalo swagat karlo instagram pe, once again 😀🙏🏼
Before saying anything, I would like to apologize that I was off from Instagram for almost a couple of months. That's because, during lockdown, I posted all of my images that I kept and emptied my archive and obviously, was unable to click new photos, firstly, due to covid situation and secondly, I was extremely busy shooting and editing a music video ( all of you will get to know on 30th night).
Amidst all of these, I was planning this Himachal tour. The soul purpose of this tour was, I need a complete break to freshen up my mind. And shooting some good astros.
So, here you go. My 1st post from the tour. Enjoy the layers, the colours and the lights of the mountains 🙂😃 Do drop a comment to give me a feedback and share if you like this 😃😀
P.S.- Travelling during pandemic was a memorable and scary thing, no doubt. Everything looks ao weird. Hope everything will be normal soon😔 By that time enjoy my images. Now i will post frequently.
Happy dussera and shubha Vijaya to all 🙏🏼🙂

*My Kind Of Unlock 1.0*

Reposting after re-processing one of my top favourite images. I named this image 'opening the portal of the universe'. Going through the archives and digging some memories here
1. Planned for spiti to shoot astro but inventually had to drop the plan for an inevitable reason
2. Went to bhrigu lake trek (a moderate difficult trek with a high altitude of 4300mt) without any gears, experience and mental preparation.
3. Saw a carcass with fresh blood stains (most probably eaten by a hiamalayan leopard) and got panicked.
4. Got a asthma attack because of thin air and muscle fatigue (to the people laughing at me, go above 4000mt by trekking with heavy camera, lenses and tripod and without any sort of mental and physical preparation. And do it solo. You will get to know. I pray that you don't have to see a fresh bloody carcass before that.)
And all these stunts I did just because to shoot this image.
And the night I was shooting this particular image, I heard a clear sound of a growl up above the hill.
Cheers to all those terrific memories ❣️

EID MUBARAK TO ALL
EID-UL-FITR, also called the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. This religious Eid is the only day in the month of Shawwal during which Muslims are not permitted to fast. The date for the start of any Lunar Hijri month varies based on when the new moon is sighted by local religious authorities, so the day of celebration varies by locality.
This is year Eid is not happening that way due to the country lockdown which took place because of the covid 19 outbreak, which is very disheartening as social gathering is not yet allowed 😓 This shot is from Last year Eid-Al-Adha, Jama Masjid.

*LOCKDOWN 4.0: DAY 3*
Split screen

I wanted to try some split screen since a long time but that time it was a luxury to me to do this experiment with some of my favourite shots, as i consider myself a challenged artist when it comes to the point of digital arts or any manipulation and I also consider myself as a less creative instagrammer (people say) 😅😄 But now this experimentation has become a necessity as I'm already running out of new contents like many other content creator. Although, during this lockdown period the work pressure of the office suddenly increased (which was very unexpected), yet I worked late at night with some of my favourite shots and came up with these😄😅
P.S.- These are works of my imagination and should not be considered as a single image. Any constructive criticism are welcome 🙏🏼😄 please comment your interpretation of these split screens.
