The gears and helmet were already strapped on while waiting for other buddies to do the same. Comms switched on and the first comment acknowledged was, "let's just go right and see what's there". And with the twist of wrist and ankles, we sped off.

As the tarmac narrowed, it was local village life and houses at first. It almost seemed that nature was brewing something for us to be in awe. In an instance, the view opened up to this massive grass land and farm land.

Seamlessly, the bikes slowed with all muscle fibres loosening with relief. On resting the beasts by the side of the road, the helmets came off and the wider perspective was appreciated with greater bliss. Although it was early summer and there was not much lush greenery, the experience of witnessing this in the circumstances considered, was simply splendid.

With the tunnel vision of better future, continuous & unhesitant digging under one's own feet of materialistic life, becomes everyday second nature. Sometimes it takes pushing oneself with additional effort to a raw form of nature. This revelation away from the concrete jungle, has the power to unravel a unique take on life that is so stressfree. These moments can almost instantly can make you feel metaphorically weightless. The feeling is overwhelming and yet addictive.

The high power transmission line towers splitting the landscape from the sunset in the frame, ironically is a perfect fit to this perspective.

You live life only once. Do not shy away from and embrace those little moments that make you smile.

"To the dead of the Indian Armies who fell and are honoured in France and Flanders, Mesopotamia and Persia, East Africa, Gallipoli and elsewhere in the Near and Far East and in Sacred Memory also of those whose names are here recorded and who fell in India on the North West Frontier and during the Third Afghan War." - this is what the monument reads on its head.

13,313 names of martyrs are engraved out of which 12,357 are Indian. However an estimated 84,000 Indian soldiers died between the 1st world war that began in 1914 and the Anglo-Afgan war in 1921. All of it under the British rule of India, with Indian soldiers forced to fight without choice on behalf of the Queen of England.

Even though the foundation of the monument was first laid in 1921 and built by Indian citizens and inaugurated in 1931 under the East India Company's rule by the then viceroy, ironically, it stands today silently whispering millions of stories of sheer ruthlessness and havoc the great great grandparents went through and survived for the future that the current generation enjoys so naively.

Time as an entity, truly is eternally omnipotent to share inconspicuous perspectives.
