❤️🙏🏻🐗Panjurli🐗❤️🙏🏻

There were five infants of wild boar in which one was separated from rest of them. Goddess Parvathi observe this piglet and finds it pretty. She takes that separated male piglet along with her to Kailasa. She began looking after this piglet. This piglet started growing and started developing teeth. Boar started destroying crops because of itchiness and irritation on its teeth. Lord Shiva gets angry and was about to kill boar. Goddess Parvathi stops instantly from doing so. Lord Shiva ordered the boar to no long stay in Kailasa and cursed him to go to earth as divine spirit to protect people from evils”.

From then Panjurli came to earth and was worshiped in many places in different forms. Depending upon the place and involvement of other spirits with panjurli the name also changed. For Example: Annappa-panjurli,Kuppettu-Panjurli, Alera-Panjurli ,Varnala-Panjurli, Tellar-Panjurli etc. Not only with named there are different ways of worshipping panjurli. In some place panjurli is shown in the form of human and few places it is still in form of wild boar.

❤️🙏🏻🐗Panjurli and Varthe❤️🙏🏻

The cult of Panjurli appears to be as old as the beginning of agricultural phase of human civilization, probably it dates back to 3000 BC or older.
The cult of Panjurli appears to have been rejuvenated around 4th Century CE during the uprise of Kadamba regime. As you know, Sanskritization was the order of the day at that period. The age old Spirit of Panjurli became Varaha and was moulded as one of the incarnation of Lord Vishnu!
Besides, the incidental information suggests that Panjurli was worshipped in female form during the Kadamba regime. It was known as Varahi. One of the rivers flowing in the Banavasi(Kadamba Kingdom)-to Kundapura region was named as Varahi! Further, it appears that the people began to worship Varahi as "Varah(i)ti" . The ti or thi suffix is indicative of female forms, as you know, from examples like gowdti, ullalti, etc.In due course, Varahti became Varti or Varte!
So there were two forms(avtars) for the same cult! There were people who worshipped both the forms together. Panjurli and Varthe are the two forms of a single Spirit power.

Panjurli is a powerful Divine Spirit. He is considered to be intolerant to feuds and disharmony in a family, in a village or between villages and becomes vengeful when devotees commit mistakes.

❤️🙏🏻Jumadi Daiva also know as Dhumavathi Daiva is a deity worshiped particularly in the Tulu Nadu region of Karnataka.

Jumadi is considered a deity of heavenly origin who descends to the Tulunadu region to receive worship from the people.

The various myths prevalent in the region describe the deity's insatiable thirst and the establishment of its cult among the dominant Bunt community.

The deity's association with the ruling class Bunts gives it the epithet "Rajan-Daiva" (Deity of the Rulers). The myths pertaining to Jumadi are oral in nature and are recorded in distinctive Tulu folk songs called paddanas.

The paddanas record the various adventures and legends of the deity. They also record the various forms and names of the deity such as Kanteri Jumadi (Jumadi worshipped by the Bunt Feudal Lords, Kantanna Adhikari and Devu Poonja), Marlu Jumadi (the wild form of the princely Jumadi), and Sarala Jumadi (Jumadi worshipped by a thousand households).

It is believed that there was great a demon, Dhumasura, who used to eat human beings he had caused entire civilisation to vanish he had a boon where by he could be killed only by a person who was a man and a woman at the same time devotees prayed for Lord Shiva and his consort parvathi to descended from mount Kailasa to vanish the demon on their way, Parvathi felt uncontrollably hungry Shiva tried to satisfy her through various means but she could not be satisfied at last shiva told Parvathi to eat him to satisfy her hunger Godess Parvati tried to swallow shiva, but shiva would not go beyond her throat at that moment shiva and Parvathi merged and were transformed into Jumadi, a male female form Jumadi had the face of a man and the part below the throat was that of a woman In the throat of Jumadi was the scared lingam and Jumadi wore a crown of nagas (snakes) Jumadi vanquished dhumasura and thus became known as dhumavathi - the vanquisher of dhumasura & later, Jumadi took various other forms to vanquish other of dhumasura’s demon associates.

Jumadi is worshiped in various names like Marlu jumadi ,Kanteri Jumadi, Sarala Jumadi, Maley Jumadi and PanchJumadi in honour of the Various forms Jumadi took to Vanquish all the demons, The first person to worship this form of Shiva and Parvathi became the Bunta spirit, who is also worshipped along with Jumadi ,The worship of Jumadi is considered incomplete without worshipping the Bunta spirit.❤️🙏🏻
