निसर्गाची होळी करून दिवाळी साजरी करण्यात अर्थ नाही. दिवाळीचा आनंद जरूर लुटा पण निसर्गाला ओरबाडून नको. छंद जोपासा, फेसबुक- व्हॉटस्अॅपचा उंबरठा ओलांडून नातेवाईकांना आणि मित्रमंडळींना प्रत्यक्षात भेटा, समाजोपयोगी कार्य हाती घ्या आणि दिवाळी खऱ्या अर्थाने दणक्यात साजरी करण्याचा चंग बांधा. ग्रीन दिवाळीचा अवलंब करा आणि ३६५ दिवस निसर्गाचं आल्हाददायक तेज कायम ठेवण्यासाठी पुढाकार घ्या.

अशी साजरी करा ग्रीन दिवाळी!
१. फटाक्यांचा मोह आवरा – दिवाळीच्या काळात होणाऱ्या प्रदूषणाचे एकप्रकारे नेतृत्व करणारे हे फटाके. मोठ्या फटाक्यांमुळे होणारे वायुप्रदूषण आणि ध्वनीप्रदूषण पाहता पर्यायी फटाक्यांचा वापर करावा, जे प्रदूषणमुक्त असतील, असे प्रदूषणमुक्त फटाके हल्ली बाजारात सहज उपलब्ध असतात.
२. विजेचा गैरवापर टाळा – संपूर्ण घराला चायनीज बनावटीच्या इलेक्ट्रिक तोरणांची लाईटिंग करून दिवाळी साजरी करण्यापेक्षा दिव्यांची छान आरास मांडा. दिव्यांचा लखलखाट प्रेक्षणीय दिसतोच शिवाय दिवाळीचा पारंपारिक रूपही प्रकट करतो.
३. नैसर्गिक भेटवस्तूंची देवाणघेवाण करा – दिवाळीत भेटवस्तूंची रेलचेल असते, मात्र पर्यावरणाला हानी पोहचविणाऱ्या कृत्रिम भेटवस्तू टाळून नैसर्गिक भेटवस्तू देण्यावर आणि स्वीकारण्यावर भर द्या.
४.समाजाचे ऋण फेडा – दिवसरात्र फटाके फोडण्यापेक्षा किंवा अवास्तव शॉपिंग, आउटिंग करून दिवाळीच्या सुट्टीचा गैरवापर करण्याऐवजी आपल्या समाजातील गरजू व्यक्तींना मदत करा. दिवाळीच्या सणात त्यांनाही सामावून घ्या. फराळ, कपडे, पुस्तके अशा त्यांना उपयोगी असलेल्या वस्तू दान करा. अनाथ बालकांना, अपंग व्यक्तींना, वृद्धाश्रमातील आजी-आजोबांचा आनंद द्विगुणीत करा.

Happy World Photography Day....

There is a sarcastic take on photography doing rounds on the internet these days, that goes "Every monkey with a DSLR and a page now thinks he is a photographer!".
With the advent of affordable Digital Single-Lens Reflex cameras and mobile phones with high quality cameras, number of people experimenting and exploring photography is on the rise. Somewhere, there is a notion that photography is more about knowing the gadget and post-production software better, but every photographer knows that's not the case.
Photography is an art where the photographer first visualises a scene in his mind, and then captures it on the camera. That inner vision is a must to become a decent photographer. Those who are serious about photography, will go to any extend to get a perfect shot, ranging from waiting in the jungle for hours without moving an inch to going to the most risky point of a cliff.
