An outdoor portrait shoot is always exhilarating. Trying to find your calm and imagery in all the chaos. Keeping the looks minimal, it was all about placing Brian within the context of the city. As the day unfolded, we photographed him within some iconic and other not so iconic parts of the Mumbai.

We love making portraits.

Taking it back to 2024 when we photographed Brian at our old Malad studio. A few carefully curated looks and backdrops helped bring out some bold portraiture. Subtle changes in posture and hair helped Brian effortlessly into multitudes of his personality as an actor, screenwriter and many more.

Fresh off the plane, the first pit stop was a coffee shop in Nairobi. The name of the shop came from an age old brewing Ethiopian technique. Green coffee beans are roasted on charcoal fire in a saucepan, boiled in an earthen pot and served along with popcorn. The first coffee in Kenya was similar to the origins of coffee culture and civilisation. The beans danced around the saucepan, giving it the name ‘Kesh Kesh’ coffee.

Hair colour and Album covers.


The project brief came in with the idea of making a space, built to the aesthetics of the artist. The electric blue hair that LAUV sported and the album art of ‘I like me better’ gave us an idea.

As we transformed the room at overnight, the colours and the pops of contrast came to life. The clouds and the white rug added a certain softness to the frame. The white furniture and pink accents, complimented the cool clue room.

Masterfully executed by a tireless team, this became the set and setting for all the imagery we were able to capture.

Gonzo Book Club.

“Photographers make photo book for other photographers”

This painfully self-aware sentence has come up in most conversations with photographers. Years of work that artists put into making books often gets relegated to the shelves of collectors and other artists who one day hope their book might receive the same love and viewership.

It’s a toxic cycle of hope and market forces that keeps these book from being truly enjoyed by the masses.

Over the years, we have collected a niche set of photo books, old magazines, art editorials that we’d love to share with people.
With Gonzo Book Club, we’d love to share some of these treasures off the printing press, with you.

This is for the child inside that forever looks for images in every book.

Probably too distracted, painting a Chewdax.

Gonzo is happy to introduce the artist Sanskaar, as we kickstart our new publishing endeavour. Started as a platform for storytelling, we believe every aspect of our platform is built by the people who create. We couldn't be happier to have help bring our first edition to life.

We will follow him on his latest creation as he rejuvenates a public space with his eclectic and unmistakable style, and she'd some light on this creator and his process.
