India day 1.

I was up at 5am, to charge all my batteries, and transfer files: preparing for the days to come. Sunrise was at 7:30am.

Went out to take some snaps. This place is every street photographer’s dream.

Shot with my toy cam: Fuji XE5.

Took the RX out to practice photo with a compact camera. A friend from Dumaguete visits me in Anilao, and told me there’s a competition in Dauin in June. I jokingly said, “I’ll join!” He said “he won’t let me” unless I join the compact category haha

I think I need more practice 🤣 I enjoyed nonetheless!

Some of my favorite moments in Maldives. I haven’t had the chance to review all my footages, but these are the ones in my gallery right now.

As per my guests who have been to Maldives before:

“Not all Maldives route are the same, this is the best of Maldives.”

Thank you all, for making this trip memorable till next time!

Some octopus we saw last blackwater:

1. Paper nautilus
— this one made me swim hard just to get a snap.

2. Larval mototi octopus
— at the end of our dive, this mototi showed up. I only found out it’s a mototi when I reviewed my shot in the laptop. I think my first time to see one. The octopus seemed to be tired from swimming, so it decided to rest on my lens haha

3. Long arm octopus
— I saw this long arm from 15m, and it made me follow it to 28m 😅 I thought itnwas a wunderpus, but when it flaunted its beautiful long arms and vibrant colors, I quickly made sure to have a few shots this time.

4. Male argaunot riding on a jelly
— about 2cm in size, I was looking at it and enjoying the show for a while before I decided to shoot.

Flounders are interesting. When they’re on larval stage, both their eyes are on the opposite side of their bodies. Once they reach their final form, both eyes are on one side and they become like pancakes underwater haha

Ghost pipefish — different perspective. Wide open aperture to achieve the blue background. Beautiful bokeh behind.
