Get • Delhi’s stretch of the Yamuna River is often discussed through policies, action plans, and budget allocations, but what does this look like on the ground?

This photo story captures the gap between river rejuvenation efforts and lived reality: untreated drains flowing in, visible foam on the surface, and communities continuing to depend on the river despite its deteriorating condition.

It raises a larger question, why does this disconnect persist between policy intent and implementation?

1987, India

Driven by curiosity and wonder, my photography explores the daily lives, struggles, and resilience of people as they navigate their urban and rural environments. I aim to document the human condition—one moment at a time—by capturing ordinary interactions in everyday settings. In this street photography project, I focus on the rhythm of daily life in Old Delhi and the wider National Capital Region (NCR). I attempt to blend out the noise of our fast-paced world and draw attention to the quiet beauty in fleeting, often overlooked moments. My approach is universal: to observe how all aspects of life unfold together as time silently moves forward. I began by observing the routines of those who inhabit the streets—waste workers, street hawkers, food vendors, and commuters caught in the hustle and bustle of the city.
