The Andromeda galaxy (M31) and its satellite galaxy M110 (small budge at the right of the main disc).

The Andromeda galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy approximately 2.5 million light-years away from Earth and is the nearest galaxy to our Milky Way galaxy. It's estimated to have around 1 trillion stars that are almost double the number of stars in our Milky Way.

The Andromeda and our Milky Way galaxies are expected to collide in the next 4-5 billion years.

This is my second attempt (actually third but the last one failed because of focus and clouds) at capturing DSO from Bortle scale 6 skies. Even now, there is too much light pollution because of the festive season in the country.

The Orion Nebula-M42 (Center) and the Running Man nebula S279 (top left).

Both the Orion nebula(diffusion) and the Running man nebula(reflection) are situated in Orion constellation in Milky Way galaxy and are about 1300-1400 light years away from the Earth.

I've been trying my hands on tracked astrophotgraphy and this is the result of 2 weeks of learning.

Mars and the Pleiades conjunction

This is the closest Mars-Pleiades conjunction since January 20, 1991. The next close conjunction will happen on February 4, 2038.

Photo was taken using smartphone camera on tripod with 8 seconds exposure.
