Raise your hand and click the shutter

This is how they take iconic photographs. Not only in photo journalism, but this mantra has been popular in street and wedding photography as well. Smarter cameras has made the photographer dumb..

Sipping the morning tea with salty biscuit in a local tea hut, under black clouds, and enjoying the Sunday fish market hustle-bustle. Slipped in the chappals, paid the money and looked upon to the clouds again and couched my black umbrella under arms and started walking towards home. After couple of steps I twisted my wrist to see its 6am and continued walking. Again, after few more, I looked up to the clouds and felt the sun won't be harsh within another hour, so turned back to start walking towards the lake.

Yes, I discovered a lake near to my place. But it was night when I discovered it so I always wished to visit it during day and accidentally, today's cloudy weather was perfect for the same. A kilometre and half of walk and I reached the local railway station of Thirumullai Voyal. One has to cross the platform over bridge to get to the other side where the lake is. Being not so obedient, I kept on walking side by the railway track keeping a safe distance (keep in mind, this is an offence according to railway rules and one could be fined for this act) While walking, I came across many picturesque things and my mobile camera started making noise. The lake flows just beside the railway track till where my eyes can see. Keeping a safe distance, I sat down on a railway milestone to watch some birds and the lake in front of me. Saw may holes dug in ground which made me a bit alert and I got my umbrella from my side (any object could be your first line of defence from any unwanted sudden reptile, where umbrella is best). After some time, I was done, so thought of moving back, but only to find a boy peeping on me from behind a bush on my back side. With a smile I greeted the boy but he felt shy and ran to his father on other side of the bush. His father was fishing. My mind changed and I kept him watching along with photographing him often.

The man heard the mobile noise and looked back, and delivered a heart full of smile. That smile somehow caught me back and I decided to spend some time with this father-son duo.

Rest of the story is captioned along with photographs.
