Pigeons and doves constitute the animal family Columbidae and the order Columbiformes, which includes about 42 genera and 310 species. The related word "columbine" refers to pigeons and doves.

They are stout-bodied birds with short necks, and short slender bills that, in some species, feature fleshy ceres. They primarily feed on seeds, fruits, and plants. This family occurs worldwide, but the greatest variety is in the Indomalaya and Australasia ecozones. Pigeons and doves are likely the most common birds in the world.

This Picture was taken in Kolhapur, India. I loved the way they were having their communication as how we humans do for Round Table Conference.

The Old World Vultures- A vulture is a scavenging bird of prey.

The two types of vultures are the New World vultures, including the Californian and Andean condors, and the Old World vultures, including the birds that are seen scavenging on carcasses of dead animals on African plains. Some traditional Old World vultures (including the bearded vulture) are not closely related to the others, which is why the vultures are to be subdivided into three taxa rather than two. New World vultures are found in North and South America; Old World vultures are found in Europe, Africa, and Asia, meaning that between the two groups, vultures are found on every continent except Australia and Antarctica.

A particular characteristic of many vultures is a bald head, devoid of normal feathers. Although it has been historically believed to help keep the head clean when feeding, the bare skin may play an important role in thermoregulation. Vultures have been observed to hunch their bodies and tuck in their heads in the cold, and open their wings and stretch their necks in the heat. Vultures also use urine as a way to keep themselves cool by urinating on themselves.

The southern masked weaver or African masked weaver (Ploceus velatus) is a resident breeding bird species common throughout southern Africa.

This weaver is very widespread and found in a wide range of habitats, including shrubland, savanna, grassland, open woodland, inland wetlands and semi-desert areas. It also occurs in suburban gardens and parks.

This Photo was taken while returning back from the Masai Mara Adventures to Nairobi City, Kenya.

An antelope is a member of a number of even-toed ungulate species indigenous to various regions in Africa and Eurasia. Antelope are generally more deer-like than other bovids. A group of antelope is called a herd. Antelope have a wide variety of coverings, though most have a dense coat of short fur. In most species, the coat (pelage) is some variation of a brown colour (or several shades of brown), often with white or pale underbodies. It is difficult to determine how long antelope live in the wild.

A comfortable old age is the reward of a well-spent youth. Instead of its bringing sad and melancholy prospects of decay, it would give us hopes of eternal youth in a better world.

16 hrs of gap to catch up the next connecting flight made me to spend some time with the city and its busy life. I always love to explore when an opportunity comes to me and can't just let it go. Exploring Doha- Qatar for the second time. The more you explore, the more you find the treasures.

This time it was different experience to explore Doha. I din't have my companion (my Husband) with me so was bit nervous to go out alone. But then he motivated me to take this opportunity and experience the alone trip.

Let me tell you some interesting facts about the city.

Doha is the capital city and most populous city of the State of Qatar. Doha has a population of 1,351,000 in a city proper with the population close to 1.5 million. Out of which 35% of the Population are local people & rest 65% of the population are from foreign countries like India, Philipino, Ghana, Etc.

Doha was founded in the 1820s as an offshoot of Al Bidda.

In May 2015, Doha was officially recognized as one of the New7Wonders Cities together with Vigan, La Paz, Durban, Havana, Beirut, and Kuala Lumpur.

Arabic is the official language of Qatar. English is commonly used as a second language, and a rising lingua franca, especially in commerce. As there is a large expatriate population in Doha, languages such as Malayalam, Tagalog, Spanish, French, Urdu and Hindi are widely spoken.

Khecheopalri Lake

Khecheopalri Lake, originally known as Kha-Chot-Palri (meaning the heaven of Padmasambhava), is a lake located near Khecheopalri village, 147 kilometres (91 mi) west of Gangtok in the West Sikkim district of the Northeastern Indian state of Sikkim.

The lake is sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus, and is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake. An interesting feature of the lake is that leaves are not allowed to float on the lake, which is ensured by the birds which industriously pick them up as soon as they drop into the lake surface.

The sanctity of the lake is exemplified by another legend, which says that the shape of the lake is in the form of foot that represents the foot of Lord Buddha, which could be seen from the surrounding hills.

In the first picture, devotees are making their wishes by lighting a small lamp of hope and incense sticks.

Second picture is of lake with its colorful religious flags.

The last two pics shows you how devotees make their wishes & light up the lamps with incense sticks.
