The deer was almost done by the time i came back home after 3 hrs. i counted six birds in all when i left - thats ravenous feeding! they were kinda ritualistic: going around in circles and taking a peck. That was something bizarre; wondering if anyone noticed such a behavior among Turkey Vultures.
i shot all the images from my car. everytime i approached them on foot, they would shy away. But i park my car in the driveway within 5 meters, and they were all very comfortable. This behavior - i see an eerie similarity between the turkey vultures and the big cats, they get ideas when we are on foot, but inside a vehicle, we do not seem to bother them!

Last safari for the day. there he was, facing straight, minding his bidnase. i took aim and the slow lens with the fstop starting somewhere around 1/33 gave me the widest opening it could muster, and with the long lens, i kept the shutter speed to a bare minimum, working the calculated focal length value for a cropped sensor (with such a dark image, shakes are no matter, i guess). Sometimes, the technical debt you have due to your equipment becomes a natural advantage! Bugga looks mean. No wonder, in hindu mythology, the lord of death rides him! Bandipura Forever!

Although the monitor lizard reminds one of the jurassic park creatures, its actually a closer cousin to the snakes.

Gypsy girls near Mahabalipuram. There were around 20 gypsies who took a liking to talking to me (their language is kinda hard to grasp - like a mix of tamil, telugu, saurashtra and other regional languages of the south). I enjoyed talking about their lives, tourists, material life, sense of style and above all - how they stay so happy leading a nomadic life. Less luggage, more happy, I guess. As my friend Gulsie would say: munghar mama khaais!
