जुन्नर परिसरात अनेक किल्ले आहेत. शिवनेरी, हडसर, चावंड आणि जीवधन हे एकाच आसमंतातील चार किल्ले प्राचीन काळी नाणेघाट व माळशेजघाट या मार्गांवरील संरक्षक दुर्ग होते, पण 'शिवनेरी' च महत्व काही वेगळंच.'शिवनेरी' साक्षात शिवछत्रपतिंच्या जन्माने पावन झालेला हा गड आजही त्या आठवणी मानाने मिरवतो.

There are many forts in Junnar region. Shivneri, Hadsar, Chavand and Jivdhan are in the same range. They served security to trade routes of Naeghat and Malshejghat, though Shivneri has immense importance. 'SHIVNERI' still basks in the pomp of being the birthplace of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
