Chronicles of Humanity

Chronicles of Humanity Capturing momentous elements of humanity to connect, educate, and inspire. Photography is an art form that often requires empathy and compassion.

Driven by my everlasting curiosity of the world and its inhabitants, in 2016 I made a conscious decision to begin my journey using my camera to expose the many diversities of the world and document the human experience in attempts to inspire, educate, and advocate. My passionate desire to involve myself with different cultures and life circumstances, capture these elements, and then use the derive

d content to emotionally engage with people is the drive behind Chronicles of Humanity. I am incessantly attempting to capture beautiful moments that will not only allow me precious human interactions with the subject, but also allow me to connect with the viewer. When putting myself on the forefront of other worlds, I always try to look at the things that connect us, rather than the things that divide us, because although we may differ in our color, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, beliefs, life decisions, and life circumstances, ultimately, we are all human and only a small part of this interconnected global community. What better way to feel connected to someone than to personally and fearlessly walk into their world with an open mind and open heart full of curiosity, then share your new profound knowledge through visual storytelling? I surely love learning as much as I love sharing what I’ve learned.

Genuine interaction between younger kids is a rarity nowadays, so it’s always nice seeing children laughing amongst each other and finding alternative methods of fun outside of electronics!

Sometimes you find the perfect things (or moments) in the most unexpected places, and sometimes it’s hard to capture the moment candidly. I turned the corner to find a deep conversation between the young and elder. Thankfully, I was successful in snapping this moment before the scene changed.

Tucked back into an alleyway, this kiddo was sitting in complete solitude, daydreaming in a universe of his own. His timid smile (at absolutely nothing) was a manifestation of his sweet soul. I wonder what his young mind was thinking about.

This stylish man was smoking a joint while waiting for his bus in Ajmer. It’s unknown if his head dress and ear jewelry was related to his social status or not, but his lavish style was certainly eye-catching.

This was the first picture I took in India. It’s a little out of focus, but it’s special. This shop owner was my first direct encounter while photographing, and he was the perfect introduction to the kindness of the Indian people.

Chai: the universal language of India. No matter where you go, you will see a local drinking a hot cup of chai, and don’t be surprised if they invite you in for one too!

Just outside of the City Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, sat this Sadhu, also known as a holy man in the religion of Hinduism. These men are believed to have left all of their worldly possessions to live a life free of material constraints and achieve spiritual liberation. Sometimes it’s hard to know if some are true Sadhus or just dressing the part, but sitting enjoying his chai, this man was very keen to having his picture taken.

This man was fine-tuning a sword in his shop in Jaipur, India. He looked up just as I went to take the picture, and the sword split his tired eyes in half, adding a certain intensity to the picture.

This man was making a very treacherous trek up a steep hill with a bag of belongings and a petrol jug full of water in Jaipur, Rajasthan. After completing curve after curve of intense incline, he stopped at the edge of the mountain and began hiking his way up rubble and stone. Just a short ways up, he had made home out of stone just below a Hindu temple. He was most likely a sadhu, or holy man, who has completely left all worldly possessions and is now living one with nature, forgetting all transient and materialistic things in life.

This street barber was situated on the side of a busy road in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Each day, he came to work with his mirror and cutting supplies, and the customers lined up, waiting in succession for their cut. Without adequate building space or funds to rent a shop, quite often you will see barbers making the street their place of business, cutting people’s hair in the open-air as it drifts off in the wind.

What a weird location for a surgical supplies store, but there it was, situated just below the Jaipur metro at Shyam Nagar station. Amidst the rapid flows of traffic, people would park on the side of the busy road to go and receive their surgical supplies through the open window.
