The Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameswaram is one of the holiest shrines of the Hindus. The temple is considered one among the holiest because of one of the devotees, Yes you heard it correct the devotee is no other than Lord Rama himself, he had performed puja to Lord Siva to get rid of the dosha(Sins) of the war with Ravana.

The temple has more than 26 tirthas (Wells) with drinkable clean water though it is an island surrounded by sea. The Holy tirthas from these wells are believed to bring peace and tranquility to life which will eventually get rid of the sins.

Visible damage to the green cover of Chennai. More than 40 trees uprooted in just few kilometers drive. Hope the extent of the damage is under control. Hats off to the Corporation workers, traffic and law & order for their work could see most of the trees where cleared already. You could find a JCP involved in clearing the dangerous dangling branches in one of the picture.

Cyclone Vardah (Meaning Rose in urdu) hit Chennai with a wind speed of around 130 KM/h. The image is at the Kattipara junction barely visible hidden in the rain and storm looks like the clouds had descended down to Chennai. At the peak of the storm nothing was visible after 50 m.

The Mahabalipuram Shore temple from build by the pallavas still standing majestic with morning sun shine. The picture shows both the Gopuram of shore temple and a small miniature temple in the fore ground.

The main temple is dedicated to both Siva and Vishnu showing the faith of the King Narasimhavarman in both the sects.

The Miniature temple is for lord Siva and "Bhuvaraha" -
Bhu refers to Bhoomadevi "Mother Earth" and Varaha is to "Boar".

The Boar(Varahaswami 3nd in Dasavatar). The significance is that when Mother earth was in trouble Lord Vishnu came to the rescue.
Later their offspring Narakasura who's death we celebrate as diwali.

Vivekananda house also called as ICE house is a well-known building in chennai. Long time ago even before the inventions of refrigerator, the frozen ice where imported and stocked in this building for it to be consumed for the British officers living in and around.
Later in 1897 Swami Vivekananda during his nine day visit to chennai stayed in this building and many voices want this building to be rechristened as "Vivekananda house" instead of "Ice house" and finally in 1963 on the occasion of the birth centenary of Swami Vivekananda the Marvelous building facing the Marina beach was commemorated as “Vivekananda House”.
The below picture clearly shows the great Vivekananda House along with the Swami Vivekananda Statue.
