Brahminy Blind Snake (Indotyphlops braminus)
I found this beautiful, world's smallest snake, right outside my house when I was talking on phone and walking looking down at the interlocking tiles. I noticed this tiny snake moving between the S-shaped gaps of tiles which was so easy to have gotten ignored. Almost immediately I figured this was a Brahminy Blind Snake. I exclaimed in excitement and ended the call quickly. Never in my thoughts I imagined this particular snake to be seen in my city let alone my house even though they are supposed to be common here.
I gently picked it up. I happened to have a lot of relatives in my house that day and I showed it to them especially kids in the neighbourhood. Everyone was amazed to see this tiny snake and that it was an adult. 🙃
I took some photos and then left it in the same corner of the vegetation under the vegetation. It disappeared under the soil immediately. :)
It made me so happy to know this particular snake species is thriving in our own garden area. ♥️
