Leadership is to encourage one's admirers to join the legacy one stands for. The personality cult may be good for political parties but trade unions stand for ideology of safe guarding worker interests. During our interactions with membership we try to inculcate this very thought so that panel 2 becomes Membership panel rather than group's panel.

Interacting with Membership to seek their votes during election is second line of defence to safeguard connection between office and members while as first line remains the meetings of General council, executive and training classes along with healthy communication links from and to office. We in Panel 2 visualise to resurrect this first line of defence while creating financially independent district offices sharing the subscription from district with central office of JKBOA(K) in ratio of 60:40.

The counsel of membership to it's leaders is aa important as glacier is important to a river. Once you cut this flow the representatives become just a coterie of vested interests. We in panel 2 have a firm belief and have a vision of resurrecting the structure to receive, filter and process this flow of advice.

Explaining the failures of leadership, which have hurt the member's reputation, health, take home salary and career growth, at CHQ srinagar has given us the confidence that the trade union mantle is ready to be grabbed by youngsters who are eager in understanding societal course correction mechanism. They are eager to see initiations of change and it's bringing on ground hence supporting idea of voting for

The continuing male domination of our society has put our working women especially women Bank officers at a disadvantage as they have to divide themselves completing their official and home assignments. This has been brought in focus and will be taken up for resolution if our members support this thought as documented in our vision Document as under:
Presently we have been observing that various types of difficulties are faced by our membership which has been a result of aggressive approach adopted by our employer with regard denial of providing of safe working environment to our women comrades hence this also needs immediate attention. As we surely believe that no imported solutions from alien lands can solve our problems emerging from practising our own socio cultural traditions in same way we believe that our fairer s*x comrades need a specially devised policies in regard to providing them a safe, conducive and healthy environment in lines of guidelines laid down by judiciary and legislature of country.

Our tour to far flung areas of Kupwara and Shopian District has given us confidence to cement our belief in working towards encouraging The trade union leadership from grass root level of these districts. Same is Viualised in our vision document as

"The concept of democracy has advanced from its primitive stage of electoral democracy to functional democracy and now the target being looked at is participatory democracy. It is an admitted fact that we in JKBOA(K) are still stuck in web of electoral democracy wherein elected representatives often scuttle the ways of being held accountable for the decisions they make for their membership. It is a vision on our part to move on the path of functional democracy by framing a fresh set of byelaws which will ensure timely elections, fulfilling of constitutional responsibilities by elected office bearers and having a mechanism to check the
crossing of limits of delegations by functionaries by making them amenable to disciplinary process before a well set mechanism. The participation of members in decision making is visualised by adopting a process of consultations through district
executive committees having members covering length and breadth of the district."

Explaining our vision for running an office of our trade union is an educative exercise wherein we get benefitted from knowledge of our members. It is a sad state of affairs for any TU when it's bearers have a belief that they know more than their membership.
