Shisui Uchiha lost to Danzo… but how is that even possible? 👀🔥
Because on paper, Shisui should have dominated that encounter.
At the time of his death, he was considered stronger than even Itachi Uchiha in certain interpretations of the lore.
And he possessed one of the most terrifying Mangekyo abilities ever recorded:
Kotoamatsukami.
A genjutsu so subtle and absolute that it can rewrite a target’s perception without them ever realizing they’ve been manipulated.
In theory, Shisui also had extreme speed—so fast that even elite shinobi struggled to track him in direct encounters.
And he had permission from Hiruzen to use Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku Uchiha to prevent the Uchiha coup.
But everything changed when Danzo entered the picture.
During their confrontation, Shisui attempted to use Kotoamatsukami on Danzo, briefly immobilizing him through genjutsu.
But Danzo had a trump card:
Izanagi.
By sacrificing one of his Sharingan, Danzo effectively rewrote reality and broke free from the illusion.
That single counter turned the tide instantly.
On top of that, Shisui wasn’t just fighting Danzo alone…
He was up against ANBU Root operatives, including Aburame clan support using insect-based tracking and suppression techniques.
Outnumbered, exhausted, and caught off guard by Izanagi…
Shisui was ultimately forced into a corner where escape was impossible.
Danzo took his Sharingan.
And Shisui chose not to continue the cycle of conflict, ultimately leading to his tragic end.
So the real question is…
Did Shisui truly “lose” to Danzo… or was he simply outplayed by one of the most prepared conspirators in Konoha history? 👁️💀
