Death in general is a period of mourning in remembrance of the departed. In Tamil Nadu, the procession of the dead is much like a celebration for liberation from the worldly affairs. It would be much desired for any coastal being to be cremated close to the shore. The Hindu way of cremation involves burning the dead body in firewood. Symbolically, burning away of sins, desires and worldly pleasures.. and giving back to nature whatever was assembled from it.

Today someone told me - "hey, you at , send your photos with a lion" - instead of explaining that I do not work with lions - I had this running on my head. Of course, there is no joy greater than trapping the majesty of the top predator in a photograph or a video - those are the mediums with which most of us get acquainted with the animal, not having witnessed with direct eyes. Yet, the joy of seeing an animal, by chance, in its habitat, free and filled with pride succeeds all other joys of art and technology.
