Ganga Ma: India Magic Land

Ganga Ma: India Magic Land "Explore the land of India . Experience the magic of this remarkable land and its people! "Ganga Ma: Pilgrimage to the Source" is a metaphor.

through our photos and videos" Throughout the ages, people from all walks of life and every religious tradition have embarked on pilgrimages to places considered sacred. This 58 minutes documentary filmed along the Ganges River, the holiest pilgrimage of the Hindus

, shows a vivid and insightful vision of India, as seen through the eyes of a pilgrim. The physical pilgrimage is a mirror of humankind's spiritual journey inward in search for the understanding of life's meaning and purpose. Following the holiest pilgrimage of the Hindus,"Ganga Ma: A Pilgrimage to the Source" presents striking images of festivals, funeral ceremonies, the arts, and the daily life of the ancient Hindu culture thriving along the banks of the Ganges. The funeral of the last Maharaja of Benares, the Kumbha Mela - the largest gathering of people in the world - and the Himalayas are shown in an intense and engaging narrative of visuals and sounds. In blatant contrast to the present times of turmoil and unrest, Ganga Ma's inspiring message reaches the audience with a timely, deep and joyful approach to a different reality. The sounds from the surrounding locale, music from festive events, and original compositions recorded in Varanasi merge with the stunning visuals to take the audience through a feast of beauty. The filmmaker's intention when following this pilgrimage was to encourage the viewers the urge to separate from ordinary life and to embark on a spiritual journey in search of a meaningful encounter with Spirit, the Source of our being, the Universal Cosmic energy.

Ganga Ma is a must in the library of anthropologists, scholars of Advaita Vedanta and Hinduism, Consciousness, Altered States of Consciousness, and all lovers of Indian culture.

Sharing a moment of profound peace from my latest project. 🌅

The morning Puja at Sri Ramanasramam is one of those rare experiences when the silence of the ashram meets the devotion of the morning ritual. For those who have felt the energy of Mount Arunachala or follow the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, I hope this brings a bit of that light to your day.

RAMANA MARARSHI ALIVE RARE VIDEO

Ramana Maharshi was one of the greatest Indian saints of the early 20th century who after realizing the Self never strayed more than 2 miles away from Arunachala mountain that he felt embodied the beingness of Lord Shiva, one of the main gods in the Hindu pantheon and Trinity whose function as ‘Destroyer’ is to transform human consciousness into Divine. It’s the ego that gets destroyed.

Nonduality is the state of oneness. One without a second.
One without the notion of one.
I and my Father are One, not two.
You are not the body, you are not the mind.

You have a body, you have a mind.
You are the Self, like the big blue sky.
You are not the doer
Whatever you can state about yourself, is not you. You are the ultimate Subject of all that is.

When mystics say "I am God," they are not talking of an individual person.
Their inner explorations have revealed
the true nature of the self and it is this that they identify with God. They are claiming that the essence of self, the sense of "I am" without any personal attribute is God.

The goal was to liberate the mind from its self-imposed limitations–from desires, attachments, delusions, and the false sense of self.

The Upanishads transcend ritual and reveal “wisdom: what life is about; what death means; what the human being is, and the nature of the Godhead that sustains us, in a word, the burning questions that men and women have
asked in every age.” (Eknath Easwaran).

As requested by our subscribers, we uploaded Yogananda's famous speech without the background music which we agreed was very annoying.
In this version (free of the background soundtrack), we added rare videos that
captured moments of Yogananda's life.

A recording from a talk of Paramahansa Yogananda on the Purpose of Life.
Paramahansa Yogananda (born Mukunda Lal Ghosh; January 5, 1893 – March 7, 1952) was an Indian monk, yogi, and guru who introduced millions to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga through his organization Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) / Yogoda Satsanga Society (YSS) of India, and who lived his last 32 years in America. A chief disciple of the Bengali yoga guru Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, he was sent by his lineage to spread the teachings of yoga to the West, to prove the unity between Eastern and Western religions and to preach a balance between Western material growth and Indian spirituality. His long-standing influence in the American yoga movement, and especially the yoga culture of Los Angeles, led him to be considered by yoga experts as the "Father of Yoga in the West."

Yogananda was the first major Indian teacher to settle in America, and the first prominent Indian to be hosted in the White House (by President Calvin Coolidge in 1927);[5] his early acclaim led to him being dubbed "the 20th century's first superstar guru," by the Los Angeles Times.[6] Arriving in Boston in 1920, he embarked on a successful transcontinental speaking tour before settling in Los Angeles in 1925. For the next two and a half decades, he gained local fame as well as expanded his influence worldwide: he created a monastic order and trained disciples, went on teaching-tours, bought properties for his organization in various California locales, and initiated thousands into Kriya Yoga. By 1952, SRF had over 100 centers in both India and the US; today, they have groups in nearly every major American city. His "plain living and high thinking" principles attracted people from all backgrounds among his followers.

He published his book Autobiography of a Yogi in 1946 to critical and commercial acclaim; since its first publishing, it has sold over four million copies, with HarperSan Francisco listing it as one of the "100 best spiritual books of the 20th Century". Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs had ordered 500 copies of the book for his own memorial, for each guest to be given a copy. The book has been regularly reprinted and is known as "the book that changed the lives of millions." A 2014 documentary, Awake: The Life of Yogananda, won multiple awards at film festivals around the world. His continued legacy around the world, remaining a leading figure in Western spirituality to the current day, led authors such as Philip Goldberg to consider him "the best known and most beloved of all Indian spiritual teachers who have come to the West....through the strength of his character and his skillful transmission of perennial wisdom, he showed the way for millions to transcend barriers to the liberation of the soul." THE BHAGAVAD GITA IS THE MOST beloved scripture of India, a scripture of scriptures. It is the Hindu's Holy Testament, or Bible, the one book that all masters depend upon as a supreme source of scriptural authority...
So comprehensive as a spiritual guide is the Gita that it is declared to be the essence of the ponderous four Vedas, 108 Upanishads, and the six systems of Hindu philosophy. Only by intuitive study and understanding of these tomes, or else by contacting Cosmic Consciousness, can one fully comprehend the Bhagavad Gita. Indeed, the underlying essential truths of all great world scriptures can find common amity in the infinite wisdom of the Gita's mere 700 concise verses.
The entire knowledge of the cosmos is packed into the Gita. Supremely profound, yet couched in revelatory language of solacing beauty and simplicity, the Gita has been understood and applied on all levels of human endeavor and spiritual striving—sheltering a vast spectrum of human beings with their disparate natures and needs. Wherever one is on the way back to God, the Gita will shed its light on that segment of the journey.
