I once saw a magnificent bird with a striking black and white plumage. It had a long, sharp beak that caught my eye. This bird was none other than the Black-billed magpie.

I felt an immediate connection to this bird as it exuded confidence and fearlessness. Its chattering call was loud and distinctive, making it impossible for me to ignore its presence.

The Black-billed magpie is known for its intelligence and resourcefulness. It can adapt to any environment and is able to find food in even the harshest of conditions. I couldn't help but admire how resilient and determined it was.

I feel grateful for having seen such a remarkable creature and am left in awe of the beauty and power of nature. The Black-billed magpie has truly left a lasting impression on me.

magpie can be happy or sad: sometimes so happy that he sits on a high, high gum tree and rolls the sunrise around in his throat like beads of pink sunlight; and sometimes so sad that you would expect the tears to drip off his beak.
This magpie was like that.
