Lately, I’ve consciously moved away from the regular profile shots of birds… pushing myself more to explore behaviour, habitat, creative shots and storytelling a little more.
But during my last trip to Vietnam with a super amazing group of birders and photographers, every now and then, a bird came along quietly and kept breaking that resolve.
The Black-and-red Broadbill - almost unreal in its colours, perched just right, with that soft forest light and a background that felt like it was painted for the frame. One of those moments where you don’t overthink… you just take the shot.
I guess, sometimes, it’s okay to go back to the basics. Because when the subject is this beautiful… simplicity works.
Vietnam never disappoints. 🙌
