The final black and white shot from Iceland. I have a few more but I think these showcase the best shots. This is the Mother of the cubs, as she ran through the rain back to the campsite. This was one worked really well in black and white as it really made her standout against the dark volcanic sand.

Angelic Arctic Tern

Before we went over to Hornstrandir, we got to photograph a few different species. One being the Arctic Tern. Whilst they hovered in the wind, we managed to get some great high-key opportunities. This was my best result, I think it turned out well, let me know your thoughts

Iceland - Black and White Series

I'm sorry for more Iceland photos, but I have one last set of images I'm dying to share. We were tracking one of the Arctic Foxes along the shoreline made up of rocks and seaweed. She was navigating it so quickly, stalking any unsuspecting Eider ducks. It was amazing to watch, and whilst she was doing so, I managed to capture some unique environmental shots with her silhouetted on the bright sea.

Blue hour Hare

Those who know me, will know I struggle to call it a day and will wait until the very end to give up. This particular shot was in one of those moments and the sun had well and truly set. The light was minimal but the glow on the horizon allowed me just enough to capture this shot.

I was shooting at ISO 12800 and 1/125s so I had to wait until the hare was very still before getting anything sharp. It was cautiously observing the weird object in front of it... (me).

I love the colours in this shot, the pastel hues of purples and pinks showing through from the last of the sunset.

Last summer we had a short trip away to Suffolk and I managed to get a few early morning with some Hares. There was an incredible field of Wildflowers, but I was a few weeks late to them being in full bloom. They still made for some great condition, especially backlit.

I’m incredibly excited to share that my photo “Cub Sandwich” has been Highly Commended in the Animal Portrait category of the 2026! This is by far my biggest achievement in my photography journey, and I can’t put into words how much it means to me.

In 2023, I was lucky enough to spend a whole spring and summer with a fox family. Early in the year, I set up a hide at the edge of the wood near their den so the adults could get used to it before the cubs began to emerge.

What followed was more than I could ever have hoped for. As the weeks passed, the cubs became increasingly confident, exploring the woods, chasing each other wildly, play-fighting, and eventually collapsing in exhaustion nearby.

One evening in April, they played all around the hide and then, one by one, climbed onto a log right beside me… slowly falling asleep in a huge pile of fur.

A huge congratulations to everyone else who was awarded!

Watching the little ones frolic in the tall grass and along the shore was pure entertainment. We'd often climb to a vantage point to spot them all while having lunch. They'd sneak up, pounce, and play-fight, and chase each other around.
Something about the scene is captivating, the rich colours of the grass contrasting with the Arctic Fox's dark coat. I hope you like it!!

Scrolling back through old photos, I realised how long it had been since my last post, and I thought I would start by sharing some more Iceland shots. While camping in Hornstrandir, the fox cubs would often curl up and sleep around our camp, offering a chance to photograph them from a different perspective. Filling the frame with their textured fur and their striking golden eyes, this became a more abstract portrait of the Arctic fox.
