Tradition time 🪶
Every summer, my family continue a tradition that means a lot to us, traveling out to small islands in the Westfjords to collect eiderdown. It’s a one day thing were we are surrounded by the sea, hundreds of nesting birds, and that lovely quack coming from all angles.
My favourite species on the island is the one seen in these photos, the great cormorant. They're almost dinosaur like, especially when they are newly hatched. I’ve never brought my camera with me before. The day is busy, the islands are difficult to move around on, and we’re there to work, hard. But this year I was determined to bring it, and finally photograph my favorite bird up there.
