This was shot many years ago, back when drones weren’t really mainstream. They were big, heavy, expensive, and definitely not something you wanted to carry on a long hike.

So instead, I asked my friend to stand right on the edge while I ran far up this insanely steep hill with my 100–400mm lens to get the perspective I had in mind.

Would I do it again? Probably not. Looking back, it was careless and definitely more dangerous than it needed to be.

But the shot… man. Still one of those photos that makes me go wow every time I look at it. Thanks Guðmundur Búi Þorfinnsson
