In 2003, my family visited Þórsmörk together for the first time and took these photos.
Back then, I was just a little girl standing in front of some of Iceland’s most incredible landscapes. I had no idea that these mountains, glaciers, and wild places would shape so much of my life.
23 years later, I invited all my family to Þórsmörk and we returned to the exact same place and recreated these photos 🩵

So much has changed since then. New adventures and somehow a career built around photographing and guiding in places like this.

A huge thank you to Southcoast Adventure for helping make this trip happen ❤️

Since there are a lot of new faces here, I thought it was time to introduce myself.
I’m Eyrún Lydía, a nature photographer, glacier guide, superjeep driver and entrepreneur from Iceland.
Most of the time you’ll find me somewhere outdoors, whether that’s on a glacier, in the ocean, driving monster trucks, or chasing light with a camera in hand.

Photography has taken me to some incredible places around the world, but Iceland will always be home and remains my biggest source of inspiration.
