Iceland is all about water. There’s water shooting up, a lot more water coming down, water blowing sideways, cold compressed blue water, hot water, really hot water, steam, fog, an insane number of clouds, powder, hail—as well as canyons, fjords, and mountains, all carved by water. And Icelandic tomatoes. Because they taste like water too.
It’s the sheer force of this water that makes this island so special. After all, almost nothing grows here, and the weather is usually horrible in comparison to anywhere else. But it’s different here—and that difference makes it more beautiful. More powerful. The naked landscape can’t hide any of it. This power is visible everywhere on this little rock in the ocean. You can see it all around you. You can feel it, too, if you get too close.
