TOMORROW 14 APRIL 🤸🏼‍♀️ We’ll welcome for Performative Books, an encounter with and around three of her books – Image act (2025), Moisés (2022) and The Two Headed Horse (2021).

Her practice is drawn to a notion proposed by Erika Fischer–Lichte in Aesthetics of the Performative: "Instead of creating works, artists produce events in which not only themselves are involved, but also the recipients, the observers, listeners and spectators. With this, the conditions of artistic production and reception are modified in a crucial aspect."

WAITING FOR PHOTOBOOK MANIA 🌷Can a photobook transform a part of our bodies? Could it be the medium that connects us to another reader?

Looking forward to the second edition of , ’s event dedicated to printed matter, we are pleased to host Argentine photographer at PhMuseum Lab on Tuesday 14 April at 6:30pm.

Sancari explores the performativity of images as the potential to forge new relationships of meaning beyond the structures sustained by stereotypes and norms that order and discipline what we see and how we see it. On this occasion, we will sit together around three of her works – Image act (2025), Moisés (2022) and The Two Headed Horse (2021) – which invite us to consider the book as a living object.

We loved seeing our space full of life while celebrating ’ eulogy, a multidisciplinary project that explores memory, migration, and personal legacies – a project selected through the 2025 photography grant.

In 2020, during the first waves of the pandemic, Sander Coers came across a news photograph published by the Bali Post depicting the recovery of his grandfather's body. Perceived as an intrusion into his private sphere, the image became the starting point for Eulogy, a multidisciplinary project that explores memory, migration and personal legacies marked by colonialism.

Selected through the 2025 Photography Grant, the exhibition will be on display from 29 January to 19 March, with special opening days as part of 2026 and ART CITY White Night on the occasion of .

Nel 2020, durante le prime ondate della pandemia, si imbatte in una fotografia di cronaca pubblicata dal Bali Post che ritrae il recupero della salma del nonno. Percepita come un’intrusione nella sfera privata, l’immagine diventa il punto di partenza di Eulogy, un progetto multidisciplinare che indaga memoria, migrazioni ed eredità personali segnate dal colonialismo.

Selezionato attraverso il 2025 Photography Grant, la mostra sarà aperta al pubblico dal 29 gennaio al 19 febbraio, con giornate di apertura straordinaria nell’ambito di 2026 e ART CITY White Night, in occasione di .

Thanks to all visitors and friends who joined us at for the opening of Peter Pflüger’s Hans – or – Don’t Bury Me In The Grave Of My Father 🖤

Centered on a three-channel video installation, the exhibition is a vulnerable, theatrical experience that welcomes the in-progress and evolving nature of the work. Projected across three screens, photographs and videos appear and disappear, creating a constant exchange.

Thank you .pflugler for giving us the opportunity to encounter Hans, and find new ways of celebrating him together. If you didn’t visit us yet, come see the show this Thursday 18 December, from 5pm to 7pm, or on 15 January for the finissage.

The project began during the 2024/25 edition of CRITICAE, ’s Online Masterclass On Documentary Photography led by and .

The exhibition is an invitation to think of photography not as a static collection of finished images, but as an ongoing action. Not only a documentation of life, but a force that moves, weaves, and transforms things. Peter Pflügler’s work is an affirmation of the responsibility of the living, saying it is never too late to re-write stories and set things right. It is a tale of discovery and repair, of relief and celebration: a way to break silence and to give a space back.

SAVE THE DATE 🫎 Hans – or – Don’t Bury Me In The Grave Of My Father by .pflugler will open on 28 November at .

It all begins with a found archive. Over a thousand negatives were left by Hans, the great-granduncle Peter Pflügler never knew, who died at the age of 86 after an attempt at taking his own life. In response, Peter begins taking new photographs and embarks on an almost investigative search: Who was this man? Why was he continually marginalized and then forgotten? Where did his last wish – not to be buried in the grave of his father – originate from, and why was it never fulfilled?

The images shape a different narrative of Hans’s life, celebrating his figure and legacy in all their strength, while an alternative, possible ending begins to take shape.

The project, which is currently still ongoing, began during the 2024/25 edition of Criticae, ’s Online Masterclass On Documentary Photography led by and .
