"Molti mi chiedono cosa significhi davvero essere un fotoreporter. Spesso si crede, erroneamente, che siamo semplicemente fotografi che si trovano nel posto giusto al momento giusto. Ma la verità è molto più profonda.
Un fotografo cattura ciò che vede; un fotoreporter cattura ciò che sente.
Il mio lavoro non consiste solo nel documentare fatti di cronaca o interesse comune; è una ricerca incessante di quei momenti silenziosi e fugaci che definiscono la nostra umanità. Si tratta di secondi congelati nel tempo — come lo sguardo tra una coppia di anziani in una strada affollata — che racchiudono una vita intera di storie. Per me, essere un fotoreporter significa avere la pazienza di aspettare che l'anima di una scena si riveli, e il cuore per riconoscerla quando accade. Queste immagini non sono semplici documenti; sono l'essenza della vita, distillata in luci e ombre."

It’s about frozen seconds—like a glance between an elderly couple on a busy street—that contain an entire lifetime of stories. To me, being a photojournalist means having the patience to wait for the soul of a scene to reveal itself, and the heart to recognize it when it does.
