Martina H. Photography A destination wedding photographer that creates wedding photos that are as epic as your love story. Happy, in love, classy, minimalist, modern and romantic.

I believe in celebrating the moments you feel the most like yourself.I am the most inspired by the two in front of me, and I focus on emotions and personalities. I am driven by raw love, never-ending smiles, hidden touches and gentle kisses. I take pictures that are clean and crisp, bright and true in color, natural and relaxed.

There is one kind of message I will never ever get tired of receiving:
“Tears were shed.”

Erin and Nick told me they opened a bottle of Italian wine, watched their slideshow, went through the full gallery and cried.
That is the biggest reward I can get from this job!!

Beautiful light, beautiful flowers, beautiful stationery, a ridiculous Italian view… I will happily obsess over all of it. 😄
But what I am really there for is you!

To understand the essence of the people in front of me. To figure out very quickly what makes you comfortable, what makes you laugh, when you need a little direction and when I should disappear and simply let something happen.

I don’t want you spending your wedding day performing for photographs.
I want you relaxed enough to forget about Im there to photograph.

I want the way you hold each other to still feel like your way. Your laugh to look like your laugh. Your family to recognise themselves in the photographs. And years later, I want the gallery to give you much more than a reminder of how everything looked.

I want it to bring back what it felt like.

I can’t say what the best loves are, but maybe the best love stories are the ones that make you feel seventeen again.

Susanna and Petr found each other at a point in life when you already know quite a bit about who you are and what you definitely don’t need to do just because everyone else does it.

So when it came to getting married, they wanted to celebrate exactly the same way they seem to do everything else: their way.

They wanted the sea, but they also wanted mountains. Beauty, but without all the performance around it. Something special, but intimate enough that the day could actually belong to them. Positano felt is ridiculously perfect.

And they had the best time behaving like two people who have just discovered that being grown-ups absolutely does not mean you have to grow out of being wildly excited about each other.

And while photographing them on those winding Positano roads and watching the two of them laugh their way through the day, I realised I was having the best time with them too.
and , thank you for letting me into this little piece of your story.
I hope you keep making each other feel seventeen for a very, very long time.

The table is not a detail. It’s a scene.
And I think sometimes photographers forget that when photographing wedding design.

Now, don’t get me wrong, of course I want the flowers, menus, the plates and all the tiny things someone spent an unreasonable amount of time choosing. 😄
But before I get close, I want to understand the whole thing.

How does the table sit in the space?
What is happening around it?
What does the architecture add?
Where does your eye travel?
What repeats, what breaks the rhythm, what makes this table feel like this wedding and not just another beautifully styled dinner?

So I’ll photograph it from above. From far away. Through the flowers. With the architecture around it. With the couple in it. And yes, eventually I’ll get very close to that ridiculously beautiful plate too.

Great photography is about showing how all those details worked together to create a scene.
And this one definitely deserved the full treatment. 😍

The danger of photographing at an iconic destination is letting the view do all the work.

For this Positano pre-wedding session, these two brought the part no landscape could ever manufacture: EASE.
He took the wheel. She got comfy. They raised the glasses, exchanged kisses in between laughter, and for a while, the Amalfi Coast belonged only to them.

And my job was to preserve both parts: the place and the feeling.

I often say: Tight frames are feeling. Wide ones are meaning. The wide photos hold the scale of the cliffs and the grandeur of Positano, while the closer frames hold the all that Ciara and Trevor are.

A great destination love story needs both because it should bring you back to exactly how it felt. And exactly where it happened.

I’m heading back to Positano very soon.
Same coast, but different people. And a completely new story waiting to be seen!

Wedding portrait itinerary: something white, something blue, something Adriatic. 😍

If you’re getting married somewhere extraordinary, I believe that your wedding photos should tell where you were. That’s why I love building the destination itself into the portrait itinerary.

On Hvar, that means leaving the land behind for a while. We took Maslina Resort’s custom Colnago 45 TS out onto the Adriatic, opened a bottle of bubbles, and had so much laughter with the portrait session that it became an experience of its own.

And that’s something I tell every couple planning a destination wedding: don’t choose an incredible place and then only photograph the venue.
Take the boat. Walk into town. Find the hidden beach. Use the landscape, the light, the sea, the things that could only happen there, and for you!

Croatia isn’t a backdrop. It’s the part of your dress code. 😉

My favorite couples? The ones who look timeless in one frame and completely lose it laughing in the next.
The ones with impeccable taste who never take themselves too seriously.
Elegant without being stiff. Romantic without being fake. Perfectly composed one moment, then pulling each other closer and turning everything beautifully off-script the next.

That is always my favourite combination to photograph: class and fun, elegance and a little craziness, love with genuine excitement.

The best photographs should never make you choose between beautiful and real. They should give you both.

Most people know Vis as the island where Mamma Mia! was filmed. I know it as the island where Brian absolutely nailed a proposal!

For weeks, Brian and I exchanged emails, planned locations, discussed timing, backup plans, and all the tiny details that nobody sees when they look at the final photos.

As part of their Croatian island-hopping adventure, Brian and Malea had already explored some of the most beautiful corners of Dalmatia. But when it came to choosing the spot for the big question, we picked Vis.

Because Vis does something magical. Time slows down there. It becomes less about schedules and notifications, and more about listening to the waves lazily rolling onto the shore, watching boats drift through the harbour, and hearing seagulls passionately arguing about absolutely everything.

It’s peaceful. Charming as heck. And just private enough for a life-changing question.

Now, I still don’t know exactly how Brian convinced Malea to walk all the way to the green lighthouse. My suggestion was simple: “Tell her the view is beautiful and she should take some selfies there.”

Whatever strategy he used… it worked. It worked perfectly. One moment they were strolling along the waterfront. The next, Brian was down on one knee.

And Malea? Completely surprised. Well… mostly surprised. 😏 Because deep down, she was secretly hoping the question was coming.
And honestly, after spending time with them, it’s not hard to understand why.

Some couples just fit.
They bring out the best in one another. They balance each other beautifully. They make life look lighter, easier, and a whole lot more fun.

And afterwards, we wandered through the little stone streets of Vis while Malea admired her new sparkly accessory approximately every seventeen seconds. 😂

And the best part was that the entire town seemed genuinely excited for them.

For one afternoon, Vis wasn’t just famous for a movie. It became the place where a new chapter began.

Sundays are for family dinners. And good dinners are basically the beating heart of every Italian wedding.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Honestly, food is one of the reasons I got married in Italy too. Which resulted with a very strategic decision of choosing a wedding dress with a corset back, so we could keep loosening it as we progressed through the four-course meal. A bride plans ahead! 😂
But this post is not about me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is about a couple who travelled 4,000 miles from Maine to Orvieto to embrace the beauty of an Italian wedding in its full glory: views, family, the slow pace, wine, the laughter, and most importantly… the food.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So naturally, when the second course arrived, I stole them away for a few minutes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just the two of them. Two plates of gnocchi. Two very necessary bibs. And one tiny private dinner moment in the middle of their wedding day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because yes, wedding portraits are important.
But brides gotta eat.Grooms gotta eat.And in Italy, love is absolutely allowed to come with carbs. 🍝

One whole year of these two!!
Happy first anniversary to you Ang & Soch!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Everything about their day in Sevilla was epic: the old walls, the palms, the long dinner tables, the music, the food, crazy dancing… Every little piece felt so perfectly them.
But my favorite part will always be the way they looked at each other.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One year ago, this was the beginning of their forever. And today, I know they are celebrating not only the wedding day, but everything they have built since. And not just as two anymore, but as three...
